The Opportunity We are seeking a skilled and student-centered Elementary Teacher to teach core content areas and build a joyful, structured, academically strong classroom for students. In grades K–2, teachers teach all core content areas, including literacy, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning. In grades 3–5, teachers typically specialize in ELA, Math, or Science/Social Studies, allowing them to deepen content expertise and collaborate closely with grade-level teams. Teachers use EL Education for ELA and Eureka Math for mathematics to deliver standards-based instruction that supports strong academic growth. The ideal candidate brings strong elementary instructional practice, excellent classroom management, and a deep belief in the brilliance and potential of all students. This is a meaningful opportunity for an educator who understands that elementary school is foundational to students’ confidence, identity, independence, and long-term academic success. <h2>What You’ll Do</h2> Instruction & Student Support <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Teach standards-based lessons aligned to your grade level and role, whether teaching all core content areas in K–2 or specializing in ELA, Math, or Science/Social Studies in grades 3–5</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Create a structured, engaging classroom culture with clear expectations, strong routines, and high levels of student engagement and accountability</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Differentiate instruction to meet a range of student needs, including intervention, acceleration, and enrichment</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Support students’ social-emotional growth and help them develop the skills needed to be successful learners and community members</li> </ul> Planning, Assessment & Data Use <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Internalize and prepare purposeful lessons aligned to grade-level standards and curriculum expectations</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Use student work, formative assessments, and summative data to adjust instruction and monitor progress</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Identify student strengths, misconceptions, and gaps in order to plan targeted support</li> </ul> Collaboration & Family Engagement <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with grade-level, content, special education, multilingual learner, and leadership teams to support student success</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Partner with families to communicate student progress, strengths, and areas for growth</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Contribute to a positive school culture rooted in care, accountability, and shared responsibility</li> </ul> <h3>Professional Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Model Hebrew Public’s OLAM values: outstanding problem solving, continuous learning, making a difference, and intentional communication</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Participate in intellectual preparation, coaching cycles, classroom observations, and feedback conversations</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Engage in ongoing professional development and actively seek feedback to improve practice</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Align your work with school-wide priorities and strategic initiatives</li> </ul> Who You Are <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Deep belief in the limitless potential of all students and commitment to helping them thrive as global citizens</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Pennsylvania elementary teacher certification, or active progress toward certification, preferred</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience working in urban school communities and a commitment to building strong relationships with students, families, and staff preferred</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with EL Education, Eureka Math, or other high-quality instructional curricula preferred</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong understanding of effective instructional practices, student engagement, and classroom culture</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to build clear routines, high expectations, and a positive classroom environment</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to use student data to adjust instruction, address gaps, and accelerate growt.h</li> </ul> Career Development and Support At PHP, teachers are not expected to grow alone.
