<p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Internal Auditor </strong>to lead internal audit initiatives and ensure compliance with government contracting regulations. This role will oversee internal controls, manage audit activities, and serve as a key liaison with government audit agencies.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate brings deep experience in <strong>government contracting compliance, internal audit, and regulatory frameworks</strong> such as FAR, DFARS, and CAS. This position plays a critical role in strengthening internal controls, ensuring audit readiness, and partnering cross-functionally to support operational excellence.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p><strong>Internal Audit & Risk Management</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Plan and execute internal audits across finance, operations, manufacturing and other business functions.</li>
<li>Evaluate internal controls and identify risks, gaps, and process improvement opportunities.</li>
<li>Conduct enterprise risk assessments and develop annual audit plans aligned with business priorities.</li>
<li>Prepare clear audit reports summarizing findings, risks, and recommended corrective actions.</li>
<li>Track remediation plans and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Government Compliance & Regulatory Oversight</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Monitor and ensure compliance with <strong>FAR, DFARS, CAS, GAAP</strong>, and other government contracting requirements.</li>
<li>Oversee compliance with <strong>DFARS Business Systems</strong> regulations and related internal processes.</li>
<li>Research and interpret regulatory guidance and translate requirements into practical internal controls.</li>
<li>Partner with business system owners to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>External Audit Coordination</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Serve as the primary liaison with government audit agencies including <strong>DCAA and DCMA</strong>.</li>
<li>Coordinate documentation, audit responses, and preparation for government reviews and system audits.</li>
<li>Support internal teams in maintaining strong audit readiness across all applicable business systems.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Process Improvement & Strategic Support</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to improve policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.</li>
<li>Support system implementations and operational initiatives with a focus on compliance and risk mitigation.</li>
<li>Provide guidance to leadership on regulatory changes and compliance best practices.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Bachelor’s degree</strong> in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li>
<li><strong>12+ years of progressive experience</strong> in accounting, audit, or compliance within a <strong>government contracting or manufacturing environment</strong>.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of <strong>FAR, DFARS, CAS, and GAAP</strong>.</li>
<li>Experience supporting or interacting with <strong>DCAA and DCMA audits</strong>.</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience leading audits, conducting risk assessments, and implementing internal control improvements.</li>
<li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.</li>
<li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>CPA, CIA, CISA, or CMA certification</strong></li>
<li><strong>MBA in Accounting or Finance</strong></li>
<li>Prior experience as a <strong>DCAA auditor</strong> or working closely with government audit agencies</li>
<li>Experience leading or managing audit/compliance teams</li>
