A Senior Fund Accountant at Petra plays a critical role in delivering high-quality service to our Alternative Investment clients. This position is responsible for overseeing core accounting and reporting processes for private credit funds, including loan-level accounting, interest income and PIK calculations, capital activity, credit facility/leverage reporting, fee calculations, cash management, and financial statements, while serving as a trusted day-to-day contact for clients. The role partners closely with junior team members, providing review, guidance, and mentorship, and collaborates with fund leadership on complex accounting matters (including covenant compliance, waterfall mechanics, and borrowing base reporting), audits, and client requests. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of private credit/direct lending fund structures (BDCs, closed-end funds, CLOs, or SMAs), excellent attention to detail, and the ability to balance technical execution with a client-first, team-oriented approach that reflects Petra's commitment to service and quality.   What You'll Do  <ul> <li>Serve as the primary contact for credit fund client relationship(s), overseeing engagements from proposal through implementation and ongoing administration.</li> <li>Ensure that client engagements are properly staffed and that team members receive the necessary training to meet both internal and external deliverables.</li> <li>Develop, implement, and maintain processes and procedures to ensure client satisfaction and adherence to deadlines.</li> <li>Review and implement partnership allocation models in line with partnership agreements for a diverse client base.</li> <li>Gain proficiency in key systems through training with the accounting team, focusing on Investran Live (accounting system), Salesforce CRM, and Intralinks.</li> <li>Coordinate and review investor communications, including capital call and distribution notices, as well as capital balance statements. </li> <li>Oversee and review investment transactions within the Investran Live general ledger system.</li> <li>Review and approve management fee calculations, invoices, and journal entries. Oversee the daily and monthly cash reconciliation processes for various credit partnerships and associated portfolio companies.</li> <li>Review fund financial statements and other management reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.</li> <li>Collaborate with the Director to provide strategic direction on various projects, including reviewing materials prepared by staff, such as general ledger entries, quarterly work papers, audit confirmations, limited partner requests, and other ad hoc documents.</li> <li>Review and/or calculate credit fund performance metrics, including gross/net MOIC, IRR, TVPI, RVPI, and DPI. Lead the preparation and review of materials for interim and annual audits of the credit fund partnerships, establishing and maintaining productive relationships with auditors. </li> </ul>   What You'll Need: <ul> <li>At least 3 years experience in accounting, with a preference for experience with private credit, partnerships, and/or alternative assets</li> <li>Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment</li> <li>Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines</li> <li>Detail-oriented with the ability to complete tasks promptly</li> <li>Willingness to take on additional ad-hoc tasks and projects</li> <li>Ability to build and maintain advanced spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel</li> <li>Knowledge of Investran Live and</li> <li>Excellent analytical and planning skills</li> <li>Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a team approach</li> <li>Must possess unquestionable integrity and ethics</li> <li>Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or business</li> <li>CPA is a plus but not required</li> </ul>   Salary Range At Petra Funds Group, competitive compensation will be commensurate with qualifying factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills.   How We Care  We believe people do their best work when they feel supported — personally and professionally.
