If this sparks your interest, you’re in the right place.</p></div><p><a href="https://www.dlrgroup.com/">DLR Group</a><strong> has an opening for a Structural Engineer.</strong></p> <p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p> <p>As a Structural Engineer at <a href="https://www.dlrgroup.com/">DLR Group</a> you will be responsible for participating in the design process of structural building systems from schematics through construction administration preparing detailed structural engineering drawings and performing design calculations. As part of our integrated design teams you will create buildings that elevate the human experience through design.</p> <p><strong>The successful candidate will</strong></p> <ul> <li>0-5 years of buildings structural engineering experience, including the design of concrete, masonry, steel, wood materials; gravity and lateral systems</li> <li>Assist in developing project objectives goals and documentation policies.</li> <li>Develop structural designs from concept through completion of construction.</li> <li>Prepare engineering design calculations and layouts.</li> <li>Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.</li> <li>Coordinate structural design requirements with architecture and other disciplines.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree (ABET accredited) in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering.</li> <li>Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Previous internship co-op experience or full time position with a consulting engineering or A/E firm.</li> <li>Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.</li> <li>Experience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit Structural) workflow.</li> <li>Experience and interest in sustainable building design.</li> <li>Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS SAP SAFE RAM ADAPT RISA Enercalc).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Emerging Professional Experience (EPX)</strong></p> <p>As an Emerging Professional at DLR Group you will be a part of our <a href="https://www.dlrgroup.com/emerging-professional-experience/">EPX program</a>. The EPX program provides diverse perspectives on the needs of a design enterprise and the possibilities for experiences and growth within the design profession. The goal is to provide a strong foundation to build your career on and explore opportunities within the AEC industry. The program is composed of three major components: mentorship work and weekly classes. These classes include EP-specific onboarding design culture marketing and BD sustainability design technology communication style education mentoring resource and project management construction site opportunities research equity design agency and career next steps.
