About the Role

<h1>Data Engineering Manager</h1> <p>CPI Security, a national leader in residential and commercial security solutions, is hiring a <strong>Data Engineering Manager</strong> to help lead our data transformation. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys building modern data solutions while mentoring and guiding a small team of data engineers.&nbsp;This role is <strong>on-site in Charlotte, NC</strong>.</p> <h2>What You’ll Do:</h2> <ul> <li>Lead and mentor data engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, pair programming, and best-practice sharing.</li> <li>Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, data models, and analytics-ready datasets using <strong>Snowflake, dbt, Python, SQL, and AWS</strong>.</li> <li>Partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.</li> <li>Support the modernization of CPI’s data platform, including migration from legacy on-premises SQL Server and SSIS environments to Snowflake.</li> <li>Design and build data marts using dimensional modeling to support reporting, BI, and analytics needs.</li> <li>Implement data quality checks, testing, monitoring, and deployment automation across the data pipeline lifecycle.</li> <li>Help define practical engineering standards for data modeling, development, documentation, security, and performance.</li> <li>Support DataOps practices including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, access controls, and secure data sharing.</li> </ul> <h2>What We’re Looking For:</h2> <h3 style="padding-left: 40px;">Required Experience</h3> <ul> <li>6+ years of data engineering experience, including cloud data platforms.</li> <li>4+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience.</li> <li>4+ years of dbt experience, Cloud or Core.</li> <li>4+ years of Python development experience.</li> <li>4+ years of AWS experience.</li> <li>Experience building data warehouses, data marts, and production-grade data pipelines.</li> <li>Strong SQL and dimensional modeling experience.</li> <li>Experience with CI/CD, automated deployments, and data quality testing.</li> <li>Experience mentoring junior or mid-level data engineers.</li> <li>Ability to balance hands-on development with technical leadership.</li> </ul> <h3 style="padding-left: 40px;">Technical Skills</h3> <ul> <li>Snowflake, dbt, Python, SQL, AWS.</li> <li>SQL Server and SSIS experience preferred, especially in migration environments.</li> <li>Data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect, or similar.</li> <li>Data modeling, data warehousing, and analytics engineering best practices.</li> <li>Data governance, security, RBAC, monitoring, and compliance concepts.</li> <li>Agile or Scrum experience preferred.</li> </ul> <h3 style="padding-left: 40px;">Preferred Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>AWS Certified Developer or related AWS certification.</li> <li>Snowflake certification.</li> <li>Experience with modern BI and analytics platforms.</li> <li>Prior experience supporting cloud data platform migrations.</li> </ul> <h3 style="padding-left: 40px;">Soft Skills</h3> <ul> <li>Strong communication skills with both technical and business audiences.</li> <li>Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented approach.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills and ownership mindset.</li> <li>Ability to lead through influence, coaching, and hands-on technical contribution.</li> <li>Comfortable working in a lean, fast-moving team environment.</li> </ul> <h2>Why Join CPI Security</h2> <ul> <li>Help build and modernize an enterprise data platform during an active transformation.</li> <li>Lead and mentor a growing data engineering function while staying hands-on.</li> <li>Work with modern cloud data technologies including Snowflake, dbt, Python, and AWS.</li> <li>Join a collaborative, high-impact team in a dynamic and growing company.</li> <li>Competitive compensation and benefits package.</li> <li>Professional development and certification support.</li> <li>On-site role in Charlotte, NC.</li> </ul>
