Join us to develop and commercialize technologies that unleash the power of genomics at scale and empower the future of human health.&nbsp;</p></div><p>We are looking for a highly motivated <strong>Bioinformatics Researcher II</strong> to join our team!</p> <p>As a Bioinformatics Researcher, you will design and execute analyses on Ultima sequencing data. You will join our R&amp;D team in Israel to develop computational methods and scalable pipelines that turn raw data into clear biological insights, working at the intersection of biology, computing, and AI.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>&nbsp;How You’ll Contribute</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Build and&nbsp;run pipelines:&nbsp;</strong>Design and&nbsp;execute analysis pipelines on sequencing data in a cloud-based&nbsp;environment</li> <li><strong>Work across teams: </strong>Collaborate with lab&nbsp;scientists, bioinformatic scientists, data&nbsp;scientists, and clinical partners to define requirements, provide analysis support,&nbsp;and influence the&nbsp;direction of our scientific platform</li> <li><strong>Develop and adapt methods: </strong>Create new algorithms and apply state-of-the-art approaches to turn high-throughput data into biological insights</li> <li><strong>Ensure rigor:&nbsp;</strong>Use quantitative and computational methods to validate results and strengthen the impact of our findings</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge &amp; Abilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>MS or PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related discipline</li> <li>3+ years of relevant industry or academic experience in a hands-on bioinformatics role preferred</li> <li>Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting large-scale Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) datasets such as WGS, WES, and RNA-seq</li> <li>Expert proficiency in <strong>Python</strong> for complex data analysis and proficiency in UNIX</li> <li>A strong foundation in statistics and quantitative analyses</li> <li>Proficiency with software development best practices including &nbsp;version control with <strong>Git</strong>, containerization with <strong>Docker</strong>, and unit testing</li> <li>Deep expertise in a specific area of genomics, such as somatic variant calling, structural variation, or single-cell analysis</li> <li>Hands-on experience deploying and managing bioinformatics workflows in a&nbsp;<strong>cloud environment (AWS/GCP)</strong> using tools such as &nbsp;<strong>WDL</strong>, <strong>Nextflow</strong> or <strong>Snakemake</strong></li> </ul> <p><span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">#LI-Hybrid</span></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p>Ultima Genomics is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
