The opportunity:

Are you an experienced RN and nursing educator looking for meaningful, flexible contract work? Stepful is seeking a Clinical Instructor to guide practical nursing students through in-person clinical rotations in the Toledo, Ohio area — and we’d love to connect with you.

Stepful operates a Board of Nursing–approved Practical Nursing program with a mission to make nursing careers accessible to working adults who wouldn’t otherwise have a path in. Our students are motivated, hardworking, and counting on great clinical educators to help them cross the finish line into licensure and practice.

As a Clinical Instructor, you’ll supervise students during hands-on clinical rotations at our partner healthcare facility in Toledo, putting your nursing expertise to work in a way that’s genuinely impactful — one student at a time.

Schedule & Logistics:
Clinical sessions take place on Fridays (with occasional Saturdays), 6am–6pm, aligned to program rotation schedules. This is a 1099 contract role, with hours varying based on the number of courses taught — making it a great fit for RNs looking to add a rewarding, flexible teaching opportunity alongside their current practice.

For instructors outside the Toledo area, travel, lodging, and per diem support may be provided — so don’t count yourself out just because you’re not local.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and supervise in-person clinical rotations at partner healthcare facilities in the Toledo, Ohio area (mainly on Fridays, occasional Saturdays)

• Deliver curriculum content, answer student questions, and provide timely feedback

• Act as a subject matter expert in practical nursing education

• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for students

What you’ll bring:

• 2+ years of experience as faculty in an RN or LPN education program

• 2+ years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse, with 5+ years of varied nursing experience across clinical practice, nursing education, and/or administration

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)

• Active, unencumbered Ohio RN license

• Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners

Bonus points if:

• You have specialty experience in maternal health and pediatrics

The hourly pay rate for this opportunity is $50.00/hour. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, internal pay equity and other relevant business considerations.
