You’ll be the most senior engineer on the platform, responsible for setting architecture, guiding technical decisions, and ensuring both systems stay stable, scalable, and shipping fast.</p> <p data-start="896" data-end="1117">You should be comfortable operating across backend systems, frontend interfaces, infrastructure, and emerging AI workflows, and you should naturally think in terms of systems, tradeoffs, and long-term maintainability.</p> <p data-start="1119" data-end="1154">The ideal candidate is someone who:</p> <ul data-start="1155" data-end="1366"> <li data-section-id="cq2dz8" engineering bar through code, not just direction</li> </ul> <p data-start="1368" data-end="1521">You’ll work across both a mature forecasting platform and a newer AI-native onboarding system, helping shape how modern retail planning software evolves.</p> <h3>Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li data-section-id="1wcd2o0" data-start="1549" data-end="1621">Own technical architecture and system design across two core platforms.</li> <li data-section-id="1d869q3" data-start="1622" data-end="1710">Keep production stable and the release cadence fast as the platform grows.</li> <li data-section-id="1d869q3" data-start="1622" data-end="1710">Make and document the big calls — what to consolidate, what to harden, what to leave alone.</li> <li data-section-id="1d869q3" data-start="1622" data-end="1710">Stand up the things a maturing platform needs: observability, runbooks, and engineering guardrails.</li> <li data-section-id="1d869q3" data-start="1622" data-end="1710">Level up the team through code review, pairing, and clear written decisions.</li> </ul> <h3>Some Must-Haves</h3> <ul> <li data-section-id="12q1lro" data-start="2258" data-end="2317">10+ years of professional software engineering experience</li> <li data-section-id="xm0loz" data-start="2318" data-end="2388">Deep experience building and operating production systems on AWS</li> <li data-section-id="6zzbqu" data-start="2389" data-end="2461">Strong expertise in TypeScript / Node.js, with Next.js + React</li> <li data-section-id="lt2470" data-start="2462" data-end="2565">Advanced PostgreSQL experience (schema design, scaling, performance tuning, multi-tenant systems)</li> <li data-section-id="1y79jrv" data-start="2566" data-end="2676">Strong background in event-driven / distributed systems (queues, async workflows, background processing)</li> <li data-section-id="1l14yt6" data-start="2677" data-end="2760">Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CDK, or OpenTofu)</li> <li data-section-id="167uqc1" data-start="2761" data-end="2845">Proven ownership of systems from architecture through production support / on-call</li> <li data-section-id="1qjvz9p" data-start="2846" data-end="2960">Comfortable actively using AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) as part of daily development workflow</li> </ul> working across multiple languages (Go and/or Python preferred)</li> <li data-section-id="13a3c2d" data-start="3205" data-end="3254">Next.js / React frontend development experience</li> <li
