The company is backed by leading investors including Y Combinator, Spark Capital, and Lockheed Martin Ventures, with customers across the U.S. government and commercial space industry.</p></div><h3 id="About-the-Role" data-local-id="509a021685c0" data-renderer-start-pos="717">About the Role</h3> <p data-renderer-start-pos="733" data-local-id="0ec8db8ff3e0">As an Electronics Integration and Development Engineer at Inversion, you will work as part of the simulation team to design and develop the hardware-in-the-loop testbeds for our flight systems. You will own the integration of flight, simulation, and test hardware, and will be responsible for everything from making wiring harnesses to designing PCBs and writing code. The simulation team is responsible for ensuring that flight software and flight hardware can be continuously integrated and tested under realistic flight conditions. You will play a key role in the design, development, and integration of specialized hardware and software that will enable fast, repeatable development and deployment workflows across the engineering stack. The ideal candidate is a tinkerer who enjoys hands-on experimentation with embedded systems (such as microcontrollers and single-board computers) to quickly turn ideas into prototypes but also has the ability to turn those prototypes into production-ready hardware. Your work will empower Inversion’s engineering teams to iterate rapidly throughout the development life cycle and will strengthen Inversion’s ability to put our products into the hands of our customers with unprecedented speed and agility.</p> <h3 id="What-You'll-Do" data-local-id="0a6e335e8c1f" data-renderer-start-pos="1982">What You'll Do</h3> <ul> <li data-renderer-start-pos="2000" data-local-id="43170bee0ad7">Integrate and develop electronics hardware needed to enable on-demand, <strong data-renderer-mark="true">hardware-in-the-loop (HIL)</strong> simulation workflows</li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="2122" data-local-id="d7cf9329f030">Create <strong data-renderer-mark="true">schematics</strong> and <strong data-renderer-mark="true">layouts</strong> for custom hardware (wiring harnesses and PCBs), with a focus on interface boards, breakout systems, and inter-system connectivity</li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="2286" data-local-id="151d60fd9b01">Perform <strong data-renderer-mark="true">hands-on assembly of prototype wiring harnesses and PCBs</strong></li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="2354" data-local-id="3e679bc58ee6">Own the transition from prototype to production, including <strong data-renderer-mark="true">overseeing external fabrication and assembly</strong></li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="2461" data-local-id="381b91263f2b"><strong data-renderer-mark="true">Analyze circuit performance</strong>&nbsp;to ensure design meets requirements and perform<strong data-renderer-mark="true"> acceptance testing</strong> to ensure hardware meets specifications</li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="2599" data-local-id="60aaba8a504a"><strong data-renderer-mark="true">Write software</strong> as needed (e.g.: embedded software for micros, test scripts, etc.)</li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="2684" data-local-id="2279da91ea0c">Contribute to the design and development of a simulation system capable of <strong data-renderer-mark="true">automatically provisioning and deploying</strong> resources to support simulation workflows</li> </ul> <h3 id="Required-Qualifications" data-local-id="6dfc52208b9f" data-renderer-start-pos="2845">Required Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li data-renderer-start-pos="2872" data-local-id="4b287aa4671e">5+ years of professional experience in <strong data-renderer-mark="true">electronics integration, development, and testing</strong></li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="2964" data-local-id="8f43012406f6">Experience with <strong data-renderer-mark="true">custom wiring harness design and assembly</strong>, including connector selection, pin mapping, wire sizing, and shielding strategies for EMI/EMC</li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="3120" data-local-id="5f6f08f8a334">Experience using common <strong data-renderer-mark="true">laboratory equipment</strong> (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition systems, etc.)</li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="3265" data-local-id="0280f6f5a04c"><strong data-renderer-mark="true">Basic coding proficiency</strong> in one or more programming languages</li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="3330" data-local-id="0d4c4cde78d5">Experience using <strong data-renderer-mark="true">PCBA design tools</strong> (Altium Designer, EAGLE, KiCad, etc.)</li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="3406" data-local-id="3f409bd58446">Experience implementing <strong data-renderer-mark="true">mixed-signal PCBs</strong> with <strong data-renderer-mark="true">digital communications</strong> (UART, I2C, SPI, RS422, RS485, CAN, PCIe, Ethernet, Spacewire, etc.)</li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="3406" data-local-id="3f409bd58446"><span data-teams="true"><strong>Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret/Top Secret security clearance.&nbsp;</strong></span></li> </ul> <h3 id="Desired-Qualifications" data-local-id="228164dd038a" data-renderer-start-pos="3548">Desired Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li data-renderer-start-pos="3574" data-local-id="4b5fff7c58c7">Expertise in <strong data-renderer-mark="true">PCB design</strong> and best practices for production-ready hardware</li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="3650" data-local-id="219c6fdf93e7">Expertise in one or more <strong data-renderer-mark="true">scripting languages </strong>(Python, Lua, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) and/or <strong data-renderer-mark="true">embedded C/C++</strong></li> <li data-renderer-start-pos="3758" data-local-id="5ef92e57bfd5">Experience designing <strong data-renderer-mark="true">high-reliability and/or safety-critical systems</strong> (e.g., for spacecraft or automotive applications)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Our office headquarters is located in Playa Vista, CA.
