About the Role

ACCEL Schools is seeking a highly qualified Virtual CTE Information Technology Teacher for Pathfinder Career Academy that is dedicated to providing a superior education for all students in our 2026-2027 school year!  We are seeking teachers who are excited to create a rigorous and nurturing classroom environment that prioritizes student learning, life skills, career-based interventions, and career development.  ACCEL Schools uses a cutting-edge 21st-century curriculum, which can be accessed online and through a variety of traditional methods.  The Virtual CTE Information Technology Teacher effectively educates high school students in conformity with the school philosophy and policies and rules of the governing bodies. Duties include: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Serve as a teacher of record and primary instructor in the IT Pathway for students.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Teach content area following the school’s course of study or as assigned utilizing technology and varying teaching modalities</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Oversee and deliver curriculum that aligns to Career-Technical Education standards.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Plan and execute lesson plans that align with all necessary state standards</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Adapt and enrich the curriculum using multiple strategies and online tools in imaginative ways to actively engage students in their learning for enrichment or remediation purposes</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Align material to State CTE standards and or create course material aligned to applicable Webxams</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Initiate, recruit, and guide students through an active chapter of a CTSO</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Motivate students to achieve their full attendance, academic, and behavioral goals, as well as other goals identified</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Maintain a positive school environment through effective conflict resolution, collaboration, positive reinforcement, and educational leadership modeling</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Maintain a safe classroom environment</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Issue discipline in an orderly fashion conducive to good learning</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Keep accurate records on each student such as grade books and progress reports, lesson plans, attendance records, and behavior/discipline records</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Establish and maintain a positive rapport with students, parents, staff, school administration, and other stakeholders</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Maintain effective communication on an ongoing basis with students, parents, staff, school administration, and other stakeholders</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Perform student home visits as needed</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Prepare and administer all standardized tests as directed</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Recognize opportunities for teachable moments with students</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Gather, maintain, and submit all student information and forms in a professional and timely manner</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Develops classroom experiences that teach students not only facts but how to apply what they learn to solve real world problems</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Possess the knowledge to learn data and delivery systems necessary for the content, resources, and systems to create, manage, and assess engaging and relevant student learning experiences and support students in their learning experiences both inside and outside the school.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Maintain confidentiality concerning all student information and any professional matters</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Uses computers and other technology provided to assist and support students in their learning</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Participate in ongoing professional development activities</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Work in a professional and cooperative manner with others to achieve duties and responsibilities</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Attend and/or participate in school activities as directed by the Administration such as: faculty meetings (before or after school hours), open houses, commencement exercises, field trips, professional learning communities</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Models tolerance, global awareness, reflective practice, and the behavior we expect from our students</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Actively assists in student recruitment and retention activities as directed by the Administrator</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Perform other duties as assigned</li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Ohio residence required</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Bachelor’s degree in education or related field</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Current Integrated Business or IT CTE teaching license required in preferred field, or the ability to obtain a CTE supplemental license</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Strong content knowledge in Information Technology</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Experience in research-based instructional practices for project-based learning</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Familiarity with the Response to Intervention (RTI) process</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Strong ability to gather, analyze, and interpret student data to make sound educational decisions</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Prior online teaching experience preferred</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Proficiency in computer applications, including Google Docs, MS Office Suite, e-mail, and internet applications </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;
