<p>Ingenuity Prep is a high-performing public charter school in Ward 8, serving scholars from Pre-K through Middle School. We are unapologetically outcomes-driven, with an instructional model that emphasizes small-group learning, collaborative teaching teams, and robust coaching and professional development, all within a culture rooted in joy, belonging, and authentic relationships.</p> <p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL DO</strong><br>As the Director of Student Support, you will lead and strengthen Ingenuity Prep’s special education program, ensuring students with diverse learning needs receive high-quality, compliant, and impactful support. You will drive vision, execution, and continuous improvement across student services while developing a high-performing team and partnering closely with school leaders.</p> <p><strong>Special Education Strategy &amp; Compliance</strong></p> <ul> <li>Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Ingenuity Prep’s special education program</li> <li>Ensure full compliance with federal and state regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, including internal LEA processes and audit readiness</li> <li>Monitor the quality and fidelity of IEPs, ensuring services, accommodations, and instructional supports meet student needs</li> <li>Oversee service hour compliance and partner with case managers to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of services</li> <li>Lead the evaluation, identification, and placement process for students with disabilities</li> <li>Drive strong progress monitoring systems and data analysis to inform interventions, program adjustments, and student outcomes</li> <li>Ensure high-quality planning and execution of Extended School Year (ESY) programming</li> </ul> <p><strong>Student Services Team Leadership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Set and drive a clear vision, goals, and strategic priorities for the Student Services Team (SST)</li> <li>Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team (school psychologists, SLPs, ABA, OT, and related service providers) to meet or exceed performance goals</li> <li>Design and implement robust professional development aligned to team and organizational priorities</li> <li>Build a strong adult culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth</li> <li>Coach and support school leaders, including Principals and Special Education Vice Principals, to strengthen special education practices across academies</li> </ul> <p><strong>Schoolwide Impact &amp; Family Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>Serve as the school’s lead on special education legal matters and liaison with counsel</li> <li>Partner with Student Support and Wellness leaders to ensure coordinated, high-quality support for students and families</li> <li>Collaborate with instructional and school leaders to ensure inclusive, student-centered practices across classrooms</li> </ul> <p><strong>Senior Leadership Team Collaboration&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Serve as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, shaping organizational priorities and decisions</li> <li>Provide strategic insight and feedback to strengthen the effectiveness and compliance of student services programming</li> <li>Collaborate across teams to ensure alignment, strong execution, and improved outcomes for all students</li> </ul> <p><strong>WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR</strong><strong><br></strong>We are seeking talented professionals driven by outcomes, equity, and continuous improvement, and who have the discipline and urgency to build teams that enable every student to meet a high bar.</p> <ul> <li><strong>Achievement Orientation</strong>: You believe all students can meet grade-level expectations, set ambitious goals, use data to adjust instruction, and persist until students succeed.</li> <li><strong>Demonstrated Commitment</strong>: You are reliable, follow through on responsibilities, and sustain impact across the full school year and beyond.</li> <li><strong>Mission Alignment</strong>: You are committed to educational equity in Washington, DC, and build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.</li> <li><strong>Growth Mindset &amp; Professionalism</strong>: You seek feedback, apply coaching, communicate clearly, and collaborate with maturity and accountability.</li> </ul> <p><strong>WHAT YOU BRING</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree (in any field); Master's Degree in Education/Special Education preferred</li> <li>Experience in a DC charter school; K-5 or K-8 environment preferred</li> <li>Experience with special education programming and&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>MORE ABOUT US</strong><strong><br></strong>Ingenuity Prep offers among the strongest compensation and benefits packages of any public charter school in Washington, D.C.
