This position is vital to ensure the health and safety of EWMI staff and contractors across both field and facility operations. The successful candidate will work closely with site and field workforce to uphold regulatory compliance stemming from our safety culture rooted in protecting our teams, clients, the public and the environment while fostering continuous improvement. This role requires frequent interaction with field teams and a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and a commitment to operational excellence. This position reports to the EWMI Director of Health & Safety and is based in Northampton, PA but will primarily be in the field overseeing Health & Safety at job sites. Key Responsibilities: <ul> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Develop, implement, and monitor Health & Safety and transportation compliance programs to ensure safe and compliant operations across office, field, and project environments.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Provide health and safety oversight for field projects including hazardous waste operations, confined space entry, hazardous materials emergencies, environmental remediation, transportation activities, and construction-related work.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Develop, revise, and maintain company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific Health & Safety Plans (HASPs) in response to regulatory changes, operational needs, and lessons learned.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Conduct and coordinate facility, operational, transportation, and project-site inspections, audits, and assessments to evaluate compliance, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Drive proactive safety initiatives through risk assessments, behavioral observation programs, safety trend analysis, heat maps, and targeted risk reduction plans.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Lead incident investigations and causal analyses using Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Track and manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) resulting from incidents, inspections, observations, and audits to ensure timely completion and effectiveness.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Coordinate emergency preparedness planning and lead emergency response drills and training for scenarios including fire, chemical spills, confined space rescue, hazardous materials incidents, and natural disasters.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Develop and conduct training programs including OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, RCRA, HAZWOPER, confined space, and site-specific safety training, including daily tailgate meetings and new employee orientations.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Complete and maintain required job site permits and ensure compliance documentation is accurate and current.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Support industrial hygiene assessments and exposure evaluations associated with field operations, consolidations, and emergency response activities.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Support the administration of medical surveillance programs and enforcement of company drug and alcohol policies.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Utilize and maintain safety and compliance management systems such as Intelex, SharePoint, Lytx, and Dossier for reporting, documentation, and injury tracking.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Facilitate safety meetings with leadership, office personnel, and field employees.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Coordinate compliance activities and assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Attend and complete specialized technical and safety training relevant to the position.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Travel to project and operational locations, including extended overnight travel as required.</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Must have a reliable form of transportation </li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC) </li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment </li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Ability to work overtime on a regular basis</li> <li style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">This position frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and responsible for taking on and taking off personal protective equipment.
