La Senza’s mission is empowering women to feel sexy and confident in every way without feeling guilty about the price.</div> <p><strong>POSITION SUMMARY</strong></p> <p>The Accountant is responsible for the increasingly complex activities across store inventory, sales audit, accounts receivable, fixed assets,&nbsp; inventory, revenue, accruals and other areas including the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant financial reports.&nbsp; Related duties include ensuring ledger entries and account reconciliations are prepared correctly and timely.&nbsp; This position assists in month-end; quarter-end and year-end closing process and will be responsible for assisting in reporting, analytics and forecasts/budgets.&nbsp; The Accountant will report to the Manager of Financial Reporting or accounting operations.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </strong></p> <p>Must possess ability to:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare journal entries</li> <li>Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts</li> <li>Perform financial analysis and generate conclusions and recommendations</li> <li>Ensure compliance to GAAP and company departmental standards and controls</li> <li>Comply with legal and ethical standards</li> <li>Follow up on all outstanding issues on a timely basis</li> <li>Maintain excellent customer service with internal and external partners</li> <li>Assist with special projects and department goals</li> <li>Proactively identify areas of opportunity /weakness and recommend solutions</li> </ul> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <ul> <li>One to five years of related financial analysis, audit or accounting experience&nbsp;</li> <li>Understanding of GAAP</li> <li>Ability to prepare work timely and accurately</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li> <li>Strong problem solving skills</li> <li>Interest in advancement</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and large-scale accounting systems preferred</li> </ul> <p><strong>EDUCATION&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting&nbsp;</li> </ul>
