<p>&nbsp;</p> <h2 class="iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoField_Job">Flexible Schedule - Mileage Reimbursement</h2> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Overview</strong></p> <p>The <strong>Physical Therapy Assistant</strong> provides physical therapy services under the direction of the Physical Therapist and according to the physician's plan of care. This is a PRN position.</p> <p>At Otterbein, you’re more than an employee, you’re a <strong>Partner in Caring.</strong> Together, we work side by side toward a shared goal: delivering person-centered care that respects every resident and the choices they make.</p> <p>Whether in our vibrant communities, our welcoming small house neighborhoods, Home Health, Hospice or Home Office, we provide the highest level of compassionate, quality care.</p> <p>Join our team of Partners who are talented, kind, wise, funny, spirited, generous, endearing, and truly one-of-a-kind.</p> <p><strong>Shift: PRN</strong></p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provides direct physical therapy treatments according to directions of the physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.</li> <li>Treats patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.</li> <li>Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.</li> <li>Utilizes physical agents, including, but not be limited to heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.</li> <li>Observes and reports to the physical therapist and the organization personnel the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in patient’s condition.</li> <li>Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.</li> <li>Maintains necessary records; clinical notes and conference notes, which will be incorporated into the patient’s clinical record in prescribed time frames.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Education</strong>: Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with either an associate’s degree in science or applied science that is approved by American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.</li> <li><strong>Licensure/Certification:</strong> Possesses and maintains current CPR certification</li> <li>Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working condition and have automobile insurance in accordance with Ohio laws.</li> <li><strong>Experience: </strong>Minimum of 1-year clinical experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant, in-home health or community health/hospice preferred.</li> <li>Must maintain a professional attitude and demeanor and be able to communicate effectively and relate courteously and cooperatively with patients, caregivers, colleagues, supervisors, co-workers and all others.</li> <li>Must be able to demonstrate optimism, enthusiasm and willingness to work with other health care team members and reflect concern for the wellbeing on patients and employees.&nbsp;</li> <li>Visual/hearing ability must be sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communication.</li> <li>Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>The Physical Therapy Assistant must have ability sufficient to ambulate throughout a patient's home, navigating stairs and other physical barriers typical to private residences</li> </ul> <p><em>*Some benefits, including PTO and tuition reimbursement, are based on hours worked.</em></p> <p>Apply today and begin a meaningful career as a <strong>Physical Therapist Assistant</strong> at Otterbein!</p>
