<p><strong>Summary</strong></p>
<p>Foundation Academies seeks a highly effective and detail-oriented Summer Academy Assistant Principal (6–8) to support the Summer Academy Principal in delivering a rigorous, well-executed summer program.</p>
<p>The Assistant Principal is responsible for ensuring strong daily execution of instruction, consistent classroom expectations, and real-time use of data to improve student outcomes. This role serves as the primary driver of instructional quality and teacher support, while also ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.</p>
<p>This is a leadership role for someone who can coach adults, monitor systems, and ensure that what is planned is executed at a high level every day. This role includes pre-program planning and post-program follow-through. Success will be measured by instructional quality across classrooms, teacher effectiveness and growth, student academic progress, and strength of daily program execution.</p>

<p><strong>Program Details</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Dates:</strong> July 13 – August 6</li>
<li><strong>Schedule:</strong> Monday–Thursday, 8am-3:30pm</li>
<li><strong>Location:</strong> Trenton, NJ</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Must be available in person for all Summer Academy dates</strong></p>
<p><strong>Compensation</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Total Stipend: $4,000</li>
<li>Payment Structure:</li>
<ul>
<li>50% paid prior to the start of Summer Academy in recognition of:</li>
<ul>
<li>Supporting staffing and readiness</li>
<li>Assisting with student enrollment follow-up</li>
<li>Preparing instructional and operational systems</li>
</ul>
<li>50% paid upon successful completion of the program, contingent upon:</li>
<ul>
<li>Full execution of responsibilities</li>
<li>Submission of required materials and data</li>
<li>Meeting expectations for instructional quality and program execution</li>
</ul>
</ul>
</ul>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<h3><strong>Instructional Leadership & Teacher Development</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Conduct daily walkthroughs to monitor instructional quality across classrooms</li>
<li>Ensure alignment between standards, objectives, instruction, and assessment</li>
<li>Review lesson plans and provide clear, actionable feedback to teachers</li>
<li>Support teachers in strengthening:</li>
<ul>
<li>Academic rigor</li>
<li>Student discourse</li>
<li>Checks for understanding</li>
</ul>
<li>Lead or support instructional planning meetings focused on improving classroom outcomes</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Data & Progress Monitoring</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ensure consistent use of daily data trackers and exit tickets</li>
<li>Analyze student performance trends and identify instructional gaps and misconceptions</li>
<li>Support teachers in adjusting instruction based on real-time data</li>
<li>Monitor progress toward program goals and flag areas requiring immediate attention</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Operations & Daily Execution</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Support the Principal in managing daily program operations, including:</li>
<ul>
<li>Attendance and student engagement</li>
<li>Behavior systems and expectations</li>
<li>Transitions and overall structure</li>
</ul>
<li>Ensure classrooms are orderly, focused, and maximizing instructional time</li>
<li>Provide coverage as needed to maintain continuity of instruction</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Staff Support & Communication</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Serve as a primary point of support for teachers throughout the program</li>
<li>Communicate regularly with the Summer Academy Principal regarding:</li>
<ul>
<li>Instructional quality</li>
<li>Staff performance</li>
<li>Student progress</li>
</ul>
<li>Reinforce expectations and ensure consistency across classrooms</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Pre-Program Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Support staffing efforts and ensure readiness of instructional team</li>
<li>Assist with student enrollment follow-up to ensure strong attendance</li>
<li>Help establish systems for:</li>
<ul>
<li>Lesson planning</li>
<li>Data tracking</li>
<li>Daily schedules and routines</li>
</ul>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>NJ Certification required</li>
<li>Experience in instructional leadership (i.e., Instructional Dean, Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, grade-level lead) strongly preferred</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to:</li>
<ul>
<li>Coach and develop teachers</li>
<li>Analyze data and drive instructional improvement</li>
<li>Maintain strong systems and follow-through</li>
</ul>
<li>Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Commitment to equity and experience working with diverse student populations</li>
