<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The Infusion Technician assists with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing intravenous medications (chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy) under the supervision of medical oncologists and oncology RNs to ensure the safe and accurate preparation of IV medications for patients.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Compounding IV medications:</strong> This involves measuring and mixing medications, sterile solutions, and additives according to established protocols and guidelines. IV technicians must follow aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during the compounding process.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Labeling and packaging:</strong> IV technicians are responsible for properly labeling and packaging the compounded IV medications, ensuring that all necessary information, such as patient name, medication name, dosage, and expiration date, is clearly indicated.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Inventory management:</strong> IV technicians are responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of IV medications, quantities, lot numbers/expiration date accuracy, supplies, and equipment. This includes ordering, receiving, and restocking medications as needed.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Quality control:</strong> IV technicians must adhere to quality control standards and procedures to ensure the accuracy, sterility, and safety of compounded IV medications. IV technicians will also be involved in department quality improvement initiatives.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Environmental monitoring:</strong> IV pharmacy technicians participate in maintaining both environmental controls (ex: filling out appropriate logs, daily/monthly cleaning) and personnel controls (ex: donning appropriate PPE).</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Hood certification:</strong> IV technicians participate in the certification procedure every 6 months.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor such as cross training in oral chemo dispensaries.</span></li>

<h1><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:</strong></span></h1>

<li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">High School diploma or equivalent.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Minimum two years’ experience in compounding IV admixtures, preferably including IV chemotherapy.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">National Pharmacy Technician Certification is strongly preferred.</span></li>

<li>Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm</li>
<li>Local travel will be required, mileage will be reimbursed</li>
