<h2>PACKING ASSOCIATE</h2> <p>APPARATUS is a New York-based designer and manufacturer of a distinctive catalog of high-end, high-touch lighting, furniture and objects. We produce both in-house and with the support of high-quality external partners; our catalog is sold globally.</p> <p>This role is responsible for hand-packaging fixtures in our Brooklyn production facility with a high level of skill and within production timelines.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:</p> <ul> <li>Perform production duties, including: transport, wrap and box product, build boxes and crates according to SOPs and work instructions, and prepare products, as needed.</li> <li>Produce consistent and high-quality work, on-time and according to department standards.</li> <li>Learn new products and techniques.</li> <li>Meet the output and quality goals.&nbsp;</li> <li>Communicate with department leadership.</li> <li>Maintain a clean, organized and safe workspace; contribute to overall department organization.</li> <li>Comply with all Company policies.&nbsp;</li> <li>Support company initiatives and projects on an as-needed basis.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Intermediate-level packing and care and handling skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Trained in quality control inspection and care and handling standards.</li> <li>Able to accurately read and follow work instructions.</li> <li>Able to quickly learn and retain knowledge through instruction and hands-on practice.</li> <li>Highly skilled manual dexterity, use of tools and equipment.</li> <li>Able to perceive color and depth of field; and match hue, value, intensity, translucency and texture.</li> <li>Solid problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Meticulous attention to detail and organization.</li> <li>Demonstrate a positive commitment to feedback.</li> <li>Able to routinely raise arms over head, reach, bend and regularly lift up to 50 pounds (and occasionally more).</li> <li>Able to work standing for an extended period of time.</li> <li>Able to climb a ladder.</li> <li>Able to wear appropriate protective equipment and abide by safety policies and guidelines while working with any hazardous materials/equipment.</li> <li>Able to operate heavy machinery or equipment.</li> <li>Reliable and trustworthy.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Desire to learn and grow.</li> <li>Experience in a high-paced environment that values service, efficiency, and output.</li> <li>High school diploma or GED.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>WORK SCHEDULE</p> <ul> <li>Full-time studio hours: Monday–Friday between 8:00AM–5:00PM.</li> <li>Longer hours and weekend availability as needed.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>PERFORMANCE REVIEW AND CHECK-INS SCHEDULE</p> <ul> <li>Initial skills review will take place 30 days from start date.</li> <li>Regular check-ins.</li> <li>Annual performance reviews.</li> </ul> <p>Salary from $22/hour</p> <p>This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.
