Maintenance Technician at Philz Coffee

<p style="margin: 0px;">As a <strong>Maintenance Technician</strong>, you’ll play a hands-on role in Bettering Days by keeping our Roasting Plant running at its best. From preventive maintenance to troubleshooting and repairs, you’ll help ensure our production, manufacturing, packaging, and facility systems are safe, reliable, and ready to support the coffee our customers count on every day. Your work will directly support the teams behind every roast, every bag, and every delivery to our stores and customers.</p> <p><em>This role is based at our Roasting Plant in Oakland, CA. Shift time 7:30am - 4:00pm.</em></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL DO</strong></p> <p><strong>Maintenance</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure all plant equipment is functioning by performing all preventive and corrective maintenance actions and record data into CMMS system (issue, resolution, parts used, labor)</li> <li>Locate parts, supplies, and materials as required</li> <li>Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment or upgrades</li> <li>Keep CMMS up to date for parts inventory, daily work order reviews and addition of equipment</li> <li>Maintain tool control inventory sheet</li> <li>Investigate, troubleshoot and implement maintenance services for new issues as they arise</li> <li>Conduct audits and repair facilities related items, doors, dock levelers, lights, ballasts, sinks, drains, and general grounds maintenance</li> <li>Develops knowledge and familiarity with mechanical / electrical drawings for equipment and plant infrastructure</li> <li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment</li> <li>Support training of operators on basic maintenance tasks</li> <li>Partner and communicate with OEM service providers directly to troubleshoot more complex issues</li> <li>Other duties that may be assigned by the manager</li> </ul> <p><strong>Compliance and Safety</strong></p> <ul> <li>Follow Safety / OSHA processes, procedures and regulations&nbsp;</li> <li>Follow and enforce all safety procedures and food safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, GMP, HACCP, SQF)</li> <li>Continuous improvement and 5S projects as directed</li> <li>Contribute to a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with customers, suppliers, and co-workers</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL NEED</strong></p> <ul> <li>2+ years in coffee manufacturing or 5 years of hands-on experience in food manufacturing maintenance&nbsp; / maintenance management or related roles</li> <li>Excellent understanding and hands on experience with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, control system (PLC) disciplines</li> <li>Excellent knowledge of and experience with CMMS Systems&nbsp;</li> <li>Excellent understanding of preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance programs</li> <li>Experience building relationships with and managing vendors, contractors and suppliers</li> <li>Strong initiative, forward thinking and ability to provide long term solutions to issues that arise</li> <li>Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills</li> <li>Excellent computer skills, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel required</li> <li>Ability to travel to training and professional development courses as required</li> <li>Must be team oriented, possess a strong work ethic, and maintain composure</li> <li>Excellent communication and presentation skills</li> <li>Read, write, and speak English</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>**Compensation &amp; Benefits</p> <p>A reasonable estimate of the hourly rate for this role is $38 to $42.
