<p>We are seeking a passionate, highly skilled, and results-driven leader to build and scale Twist Bioscience’s global logistics function. The Director of Logistics is responsible for overseeing all aspects of shipping, logistics, and warehousing operations — including cold chain management and international distribution — ensuring that our Next Gen Sequencing and DNA Synthesis products reach customers worldwide safely, compliantly, and on time. This senior leadership role requires deep expertise in biotech supply chains, cross-border regulatory requirements, and temperature-controlled logistics to support Twist’s rapid growth and mission to transform life sciences.</p>
<p><strong>What You’ll Be Doing </strong>[Essential Duties/Responsibilities]</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead and develop Twist’s end-to-end logistics organization, including domestic and international shipping, warehousing, and cold chain operations, building a high-performing team aligned to company growth objectives.</li>
<li>Continuously improve cold chain logistics programs to ensure product integrity throughout storage, handling, and transportation through the supply base to customers.</li>
<li>Oversee international shipping operations including customs clearance, import/export compliance, Incoterms selection, and coordination with freight forwarders, brokers, and carriers across all major global trade lanes.</li>
<li>Manage warehouse operations across all Twist’s facilities, ensuring best-in-class inventory accuracy, space utilization, safety compliance, and order fulfillment performance for both commercial and R&D product lines.</li>
<li>Develop and manage relationships with couriers, cold chain logistics vendors, and freight forwarders; lead RFP/RFQ processes and negotiate contracts to optimize service levels and costs.</li>
<li>Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Finance, and Customer Support teams to align logistics operations with production schedules, customer commitments, and cost targets.</li>
<li>Define and track key logistics KPIs and present regular performance reporting to senior leadership.</li>
<li>Develop scalable logistics infrastructure to support Twist’s global expansion, including evaluation of regional distribution strategies, warehouse network optimization, and new market entry logistics planning.</li>
<li>Follow regulatory and ISO 13485.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What You’ll Bring to the Team </strong>[Competency/Qualifications]</p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field required; advanced degree (MBA or MS) preferred.</li>
<li>12+ years of progressive logistics and supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing multi-site or global logistics operations in a life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical company.</li>
<li>Deep expertise in cold chain logistics, including validated temperature-controlled transport (2–8°C, –20°C, –80°C/dry ice), and packaging qualification.</li>
<li>Proven track record in international shipping and trade compliance.</li>
<li>Strong warehousing and 3PL management experience, including WMS implementation and optimization, inventory control processes, and regulatory compliance.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to manage and develop high-performing teams across multiple locations; a collaborative, servant-leadership style with the energy to inspire and hold teams accountable in a fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with ERP/TMS/WMS systems (SAP preferred) for logistics management, as well as data analytics tools.</li>
<li>Excellent financial acumen with the ability to develop and manage a logistics budget, build business cases for capital investments, and identify cost-reduction opportunities.</li>
<li>Strong executive communication and influencing skills; ability to present complex logistics data and strategic recommendations clearly to C-suite audiences.</li>
<li>Relentless drive for results: willing to go above and beyond, thrive under ambiguity, and build scalable processes from the ground up in a high-growth biotech environment.</li>
