Every day, our work reaches more than 40 million online followers around the world.</p></div><h3><strong>Overview</strong></h3> <p>The Lead of Video owns the creative vision and technical execution of all long-form video content for The Mel Robbins Podcast and 143 Studios. This role involves blending hands-on editing mastery with high-level creative direction and people management. This role ensures every video is visually compelling, on brand, and on time, delivered with excellence. In addition to leading the video post-production workflow, this person will also manage video editing tools and systems, including remote-access tools to support cross-team collaboration.</p> <h3><strong>Creative Direction &amp; Vision</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Define and maintain the creative vision and visual language for all video content for The Mel Robbins Podcast and other 143 Studios projects.</li> <li>Collaborate on story concepts, storyboards, and campaign ideas during pre-production.</li> <li>Drive creative ideation for trailers, brand campaigns, and new content formats.</li> <li>Ensure cohesive execution and consistent visual storytelling across all video deliverables for the show and other projects.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Creative &amp; Technical Editing</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Guide the editing of high-quality video content with strong narrative structure, pacing, and emotional impact.</li> <li>Craft visually engaging stories through intentional sequencing, color, audio, and motion graphics.</li> <li>Collaborate with motion designers to integrate dynamic graphics and visual effects.</li> <li>Transform rough concepts into polished final edits.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Leadership &amp; People Management</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of full-time and freelance video editors and creatives.</li> <li>Provide clear creative feedback and direction to uphold high standards across all video outputs.</li> <li>Oversee final quality control and approvals for all video content.</li> <li>Promote a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Workflow &amp; Systems Management</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Build and refine post-production processes, file management, and organizational systems.</li> <li>Manage media and file storage.</li> <li>Maintain and oversee remote-access tools, ensuring:</li> <ul> <li>Reliable remote editing workflows</li> <li>Consistent system availability and user access</li> <li>Seamless coordination and sharing of files between in-office and remote team members</li> </ul> <li>Collaborate with operations and IT when needed to troubleshoot system issues.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Partner with marketing, production and leadership to align creative execution with strategic goals.</li> <li>Offer creative guidance during planning and campaign development.</li> <li>Communicate proactively about schedules and priorities.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Quality Control &amp; Innovation</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Ensure all video outputs meet standards across sound, color, graphics, and formatting.</li> <li>Stay up-to-date on platform trends, editing techniques, and emerging creative tools.<br><br></li> </ul> <h2><strong>Qualifications</strong></h2> <ul> <li>10+ years of editing experience, including 3-5+ years working in a senior or lead role managing and mentoring a team of editors and multidisciplinary creatives.</li> <li><em>Demonstrated experience overseeing the end-to-end video production of a show, series or film(s) - driving video work from concept through post-production and delivery.</em></li> <li>Expert understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro.</li> <li>Expert understanding of Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D a plus.</li> <li>Expert knowledge of color grading, Lumetri or DaVinci knowledge is a plus.</li> <li>Expert experience directing the execution of long and short form video - including branded content and short trailers.&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong and demonstrated editorial instincts with the ability to shape narrative, pacing, and performance.</li> <li>Experience maintaining post-production tools, workflows, and remote-access systems.</li> <li>Solutions-driven mindset with the ability to move fast without ego.</li> <li>Experience working in hybrid team environments.</li> <li>Deep understanding of camera systems, lighting, and production environments.</li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Benefits &amp;
