<h2><strong>Position Objective</strong></h2>
<p>The <strong>Superintendent – Substations</strong> directs field activities of personnel engaged in substation construction projects. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing work safely and efficiently while maintaining a professional attitude and fostering teamwork across crews, subcontractors, and project teams.</p>

<h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>Promote and maintain a strong <strong>safety culture</strong>, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations</li>
<li>Supervise and assign <strong>General Foremen and field crews</strong>, including participation in union hiring processes</li>
<li>Recruit, select, and manage union workforce in coordination with <strong>IBEW halls and business agents</strong></li>
<li>Ensure <strong>quality control and adherence to company standards and safety policies</strong></li>
<li>Develop and maintain strong relationships with <strong>local unions</strong>, ensuring compliance with agreements</li>
<li>Assist General Foremen in <strong>scheduling crews, tools, and equipment</strong> to maximize productivity and minimize downtime</li>
<li>Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to <strong>develop and maintain project schedules</strong></li>
<li>Review production, monitor work progress, and take corrective actions to maintain <strong>profitability and performance</strong></li>
<li>Approve <strong>timesheets, pay sheets, and daily field reports</strong></li>
<li>Support Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Estimators in <strong>bidding and constructability planning</strong></li>
<li>Assist with review and approval of <strong>as-built documentation</strong></li>
<li>Coordinate with Project teams to ensure <strong>material availability, subcontractor management, and contract compliance</strong></li>
<li>Support assembly of <strong>project closeout documentation</strong></li>
<li>Train, mentor, and develop field personnel while <strong>holding teams accountable for performance</strong></li>
<li>Lead <strong>on-the-job training and safety tailgate meetings</strong></li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>

<h2><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma or equivalent</li>
<li><strong>5–7+ years of relevant construction experience</strong> <em>(substation or utility construction preferred)</em></li>
<li>OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record</li>
<li>Proficiency with <strong>Microsoft Office Suite</strong></li>
</ul>

<h2><strong>Desired Qualifications</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li><strong>10+ years of substation field experience</strong></li>
<li>Experience with <strong>greenfield and brownfield substation construction</strong></li>
<li>Understanding of <strong>substation switching procedures and safety practices</strong></li>
<li>Experience coordinating with <strong>IBEW union labor and workforce planning</strong></li>
<li>Strong knowledge of <strong>drawings, specifications, and field execution</strong></li>
