The Opportunity  We are seeking a skilled, collaborative, and student-centered Special Education Teacher to provide traditional push-in and pull-out support for elementary students with IEPs. This teacher will deliver targeted instruction, support students in accessing grade-level content, manage a caseload, and collaborate closely with general education teachers, families, service providers, and school leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong instructional skills, a deep understanding of specially designed instruction, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students while maintaining strong systems for compliance, progress monitoring, and communication. What you’ll do Instruction & Student Support <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Provide push-in and pull-out instructional support for students with IEPs in reading, writing, mathematics, and other content areas as needed</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Deliver specially designed instruction aligned to student IEP goals, accommodations, and grade-level standards</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Support students in accessing rigorous classroom instruction through differentiation, scaffolding, and targeted intervention</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Use small-group and individualized instruction to address student needs and accelerate growth</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive classroom practices and student success</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Help students build independence, confidence, academic skills, and self-advocacy</li> </ul> IEP Implementation & Caseload Management <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Manage a student caseload, ensuring IEP goals, services, accommodations, and supports are implemented with fidelity</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals aligned to student needs and progress data</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Collect and analyze student data to adjust instruction and track progress toward goals</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to student performance, services, progress monitoring, and compliance</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Participate in IEP meetings and contribute meaningfully to goal-setting, progress discussions, and family communication</li> </ul> Collaboration & Curriculum Support <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Partner with general education teachers to plan accommodations, modifications, interventions, and instructional supports</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Consult with school personnel, specialists, and service providers to coordinate services for students</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with grade-level teams to review student data and align supports across classrooms</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Support co-teaching or in-class support models as needed</li> </ul> Family Communication & School Community <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Build strong, proactive relationships with students and families</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Communicate regularly with families about student progress, strengths, needs, and supports</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Partner with families to support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth</li> </ul> Professional Responsibilities  <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Maintain strong organizational systems and meet professional deadlines and expectations</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Participate in intellectual preparation, coaching cycles, classroom observations, and feedback conversations</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Engage in ongoing professional development and actively seek feedback to improve practice</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Align your work with school-wide priorities and strategic initiatives</li> </ul> Who you are <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Deep belief in the limitless potential of all students and commitment to helping them thrive as global citizens.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education or actively working toward certification.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience working in urban school communities and a commitment to building strong relationships with students, families, and staff is preferred.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong understanding of IEP implementation, accommodations, progress monitoring, and compliance</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrated ability to deliver small-group, targeted, and differentiated instruction</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, service providers, and families to support student success</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to use student data to adjust instruction, monitor progress, and accelerate growth.</li> </ul> Career Development and Support At PHP, teachers are not expected to grow alone.
