The individual filling this role will be responsible for estimating projects the size and scope of up to $25M, depending on the complexity of the project and the amount of self-performance work.</p> <p><strong>Essential Job Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Estimate projects of size and scope upwards of $25MM, depending on the complexity of the project and the amount of self-performed work.</li> <li>Develop estimates for lump sum, unit price, Time &amp; Material, and T&amp;M Not to Exceed based projects.</li> <li>Attend virtual and/or on-site pre-bid meetings/shows.&nbsp; Be willing to travel to on-site bid shows located in the Rocky Mountain region and the Dakotas.</li> <li>Read and understand all bid documents. These are to include all drawings, scope of work, contract documents and project specific specifications.</li> <li>Draft pre-estimate checklist &amp; opportunity matrix based on information from the bid documents and pre-bid meeting.</li> <li>Set up bid review meetings with internal staff (PM’s, Area Managers, Superintendents).</li> <li>Review Request for Information (RFIs) to address questions throughout the bid process.</li> <li>Perform quantity take-offs and use to develop estimate.</li> <li>Assign labor, equipment, materials and subcontractors to the task quantities.</li> <li>Contact subcontractors and vendors for pricing/quotes. Expectation of 3 estimates per trade or material.</li> <li>Understand project requirements and assign indirect costs for project oversight, safety, and miscellaneous consumables.</li> <li>Capacity to break projects down to a granular level to establish the work breakdown structure that can be directly transferred to the project reporting/tracking structure.</li> <li>Ability to pull information from multiple sources and compile into a comprehensive, easy to understand bid proposal.&nbsp;</li> <li>Generate cashflow table and project risk analysis reports and associated contingency evaluation.</li> <li>Generate all submittals called for in the RFQ.</li> <li>Compile all exceptions &amp; clarifications.</li> <li>Generate project schedule and resource loading reports.</li> <li>Lead bid review meetings and provide information as necessary.</li> <li>Answer post bid/shortlist questions and participate in customer-led post bid review meetings.</li> <li>If awarded, compile all bid information and disseminate into appropriate project folder files.
