<p><strong>Buckner Retirement Services Community</strong>: Ventana by Buckner<br><strong>Location:&nbsp;</strong>Dallas, TX - Onsite<br><strong>Address:</strong> 8301 N Central Expy, Dallas, TX 75225<br><strong>Shift:</strong> Monday-Friday 9am-6pm, some on-call and weekends&nbsp;<br><strong>Job Schedule</strong>: Full-time</p> <p>We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our community committed to delivering outstanding service to our residents. As a Maintenance Technician, you will impact the lives of our members and residents through providing a beautiful and upkept building. Join our team and inspire happiness in the lives of others!</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, sanding, or removing old paint. Fill holes and interstices with putty or other filler.</li> <li>Clean metal surfaces and exterior walls with a metal scraper and steel wool brush to remove dirt, rust and scale. Remove old paint by applying paint remover.</li> <li>Removes fixtures such as door knobs and light switch covers to prevent over paint.</li> <li>Repairs holes in drywall using spackling compound or other materials.</li> <li>Measure, cut, fit and fasten drywall panels to wood or metal structures.</li> <li>Tapes joints, holes, and uses spackling to float joints, sands joints to a smooth finish even with surrounding drywall.</li> <li>Applies appropriate texture to surfaces according to instructions and/or to match surrounding drywall.</li> <li>Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces</li> <li>Providing decorative and faux finishes as the project requires</li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>What You’ll Bring:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED preferred.</li> <li>Minimum 5 years related experience preferred, or appropriate formal education or Buckner training.</li> <li>Working knowledge of proper painting procedures.</li> <li>Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.</li> <li>Requires ability to read, write and understand business documents which are written in English.</li> <li>Requires ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers.
