You’ll be responsible for safely completing guardrail and roadway safety projects throughout the RoadGuard West service area.</span></p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 10pt;"><strong>This is a traveling field position. Crews typically leave from the Erie, Colorado yard on Monday and travel to project locations throughout the region, returning Friday. Depending on the project, you may be required to remain out for up to two weeks at a time. Projects may also require night-shift work, so flexibility with travel, shifts, and schedules is required.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">In this role, you will:</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Lead and work alongside a union crew installing guardrail, impact attenuators, sign structures, and other highway safety systems.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Plan daily work, assign tasks, and set production goals to keep projects safe, on schedule, and within budget.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Conduct toolbox talks, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and jobsite safety inspections.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Read and interpret construction plans, shop drawings, specifications, and traffic control plans.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Coordinate jobsite setup, traffic control, materials, equipment, and crew needs.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Ensure equipment is operated safely, inspected regularly, and properly maintained.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Coordinate manpower needs with the local union hall and handle crew-related issues professionally.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Train and mentor crew members while providing clear direction and feedback.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Serve as the primary on-site contact for field operations.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Complete daily reports, timesheets, production logs, and equipment and material records.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Communicate scope changes, unexpected site conditions, and additional work to the Project Manager.</span></p> </li> </ul> <h3><span style="font-size: 10pt;">What You’ll Bring</span></h3> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Three to five years of highway, roadway, or heavy civil construction experience.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">At least two years of experience as a foreman, crew lead, or similar field leader.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Working knowledge of DOT specifications, work-zone traffic control, and OSHA construction safety requirements.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience operating or overseeing roadway construction equipment such as post drivers, skid steers, man lifts, drill rigs, augers, boom trucks, and dump trucks.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">A hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside your crew.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Ability and willingness to travel Monday through Friday and remain out for up to two weeks at a time when project schedules require it.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Flexibility to work day or night shifts depending on project needs.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Ability to use a smartphone or tablet for timekeeping, daily reporting, and project communication.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">A valid driver’s license.</span></p> </li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience working under a union collective bargaining agreement is preferred. A CDL is also preferred but not required.</span></p> <h3><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Preferred Certifications</span></h3> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 – Construction</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) or equivalent</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Flagger certification</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">First Aid and CPR certification</span></p> </li> </ul> <h3><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Travel, Schedule &amp; Shift Differential</span></h3> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">This is a <strong>regional traveling field position based out of our Erie, Colorado yard</strong>. Travel is a regular part of the position, not occasional.</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Crews typically travel <strong>Monday through Friday</strong> to active projects throughout the RoadGuard West service area.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Some projects may require employees to <strong>remain out for up to two weeks at a time</strong>.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Project schedules may require <strong>day or night-shift work</strong>, and employees must be flexible based on operational needs.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Foremen working a night shift receive a <strong>$4.00/hour shift differential</strong>.</span></p> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">When scheduled to work more than <strong>12 hours in a day, hours beyond 12 are paid at time-and-a-half</strong>.</span></p> </li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Candidates should be comfortable with frequent travel and changing project schedules before applying.</span></p> <h3><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Physical Requirements</span></h3> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">This is an active, hands-on field position performed outdoors near live traffic and in changing weather conditions.
