This position provides appropriate services to the students, helping to implement suggested educational activities and in monitoring student behavior.</p> <p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist teachers with the logistics of instructions. Including passing out books, supplies, attendance, and making copies</li> <li>Assist teachers in monitoring student’s work behavior</li> <li>Monitors children during lunch and recess</li> <li>Assists with movement of children through hallways and onto and off buses</li> <li>Assists teachers with reinforcing instruction and small group learning. This includes working with individuals or small groups of students, administering tests, grading tests and homework</li> <li>Performs other related duties as assigned</li> </ul> <p><strong>Minimum Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>An associate degree or at least 48 postsecondary education credits; or the successful completion of a state or locally developed assessment in reading, writing, and mathematics</li> <li>Previous work with inner city youth a plus.</li> <li>Secure three background checks:</li> <li>Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check Clearance</li> <li>Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance</li> <li>FBI Criminal Background Clearance</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Demonstrated Knowledge of:</strong><strong><br></strong></p> <ul> <li>MS Office Suite</li> <li>The fundamentals of working with various students, parents, other teachers and leadership</li> <li>Knowledge of policies and regulations necessary to answer work-related and general information questions</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Demonstrated Ability to:</strong><strong><br></strong></p> <ul> <li>Take and follow directions as indicated by the classroom teacher</li> <li>Effectively manage time and effectively manage students in the classroom</li> <li>Work well with students of all ages</li> <li>Represent one’s self and CCCS in a positive and professional manner consistent with a personal commitment to fulfilling the District’s mission statement and core values while displaying service and involvement, creativity and innovation, dignity and respect, personal and professional integrity, and a duty to safeguard sensitive or confidential information from intentional or unintentional disclosure</li> <li>Interact and work cooperatively with students, parents, staff and the CCCS community in a timely and courteous manner</li> <li>Abide by all Federal and State laws, Board policies and CCCS regulations</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Note:</strong>&nbsp; CCCS has the exclusive right to alter this job description at any time.&nbsp; This job description is not an employment agreement or contract.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
