This role is critical to ensuring application availability, performance, and scalability. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with L4–L7 technologies, a performance-first mindset, and the ability to operate in complex, mission-critical environments.  The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with business acumen, ensuring that technology strategies align with organizational goals while delivering scalable, secure, and resilient solutions.  Key Responsibilities  Architecture & Design  <ul> <li>Engineer, deploy, and manage load balancing solutions (L4–L7) to support high-availability applications and services  </li> <li>Design and implement traffic management strategies including SSL offload, content switching, GSLB, and application acceleration  </li> <li>Configure and support platforms such as F5 BIG-IP (LTM/GTM), Citrix ADC (NetScaler), A10, or cloud-native load balancers  </li> <li>Optimize application performance through tuning of persistence profiles, health monitors, iRules/policies, and traffic steering logic  </li> <li>Lead efforts in capacity planning, failover design, and disaster recovery for application delivery infrastructure  </li> <li>Troubleshoot complex network and application performance issues across multi-tier environments  </li> <li>Partner with application, DevOps, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of services  </li> <li>Implement and maintain secure traffic flows, including WAF integration, TLS best practices, and DDoS mitigation strategies  </li> <li>Automate load balancer provisioning and configuration using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or vendor APIs  </li> <li>Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and runbooks for traffic engineering and load balancing practices  </li> </ul> Technical Leadership  <ul> <li>Serve as an enterprise-wide authority on technology standards, patterns, and best practices. </li> <li>Guide best practices adoption, modernization, and migration initiatives across business units. </li> <li>Provide governance for solution design, ensuring compliance, security, and performance objectives are met. </li> <li>Mentor engineers and junior architects, fostering a culture of technical excellence. </li> </ul> Implementation & Optimization  <ul> <li>Lead proof-of-concepts (POCs), solution prototyping, and production deployments. </li> <li>Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps) as needed. </li> <li>Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies. </li> </ul> Stakeholder Engagement  <ul> <li>Partner with business leaders to translate requirements into actionable technology roadmaps. </li> <li>Produce architectural diagrams, technical documentation, and executive presentations. </li> <li>Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on the value and impact of proposed solutions. </li> </ul> Qualifications  <ul> <li>7+ years of experience in network engineering with a strong focus on load balancing and application delivery  </li> <li>Deep expertise in L4–L7 networking concepts, including HTTP/S, TCP optimization, persistence, and SSL/TLS  </li> <li>Hands-on experience with platforms such as F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM/DNS), Citrix ADC, A10, or similar  </li> <li>Strong understanding of DNS, GSLB, and global traffic distribution strategies  </li> <li>Experience with cloud load balancing in AWS (ALB/NLB), Azure (Application Gateway/Front Door), or GCP  </li> <li>Familiarity with web application security concepts including WAF, OWASP Top 10, and zero-trust principles  </li> <li>Scripting/automation experience (Python, Bash, or similar) and infrastructure-as-code tools  </li> <li>Solid understanding of routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.)  </li> <li>Strong troubleshooting skills with packet captures, logs, and performance metrics  </li> <li>Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally  </li> <li>Must be locally located and comfortable working a 3 days in office hybrid model and 2 days remote</li> </ul> Soft Skills  <ul> <li>Excellent communication and executive presentation abilities. </li> <li>Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking. </li> <li>Ability to balance long-term strategy with hands-on execution. </li> <li>Entrepreneurial and Collaborative mindset  </li> <li>Leadership skills to influence cross-functional teams. </li> </ul> This position is not eligible for sponsorship now or in the future.<div class="content-conclusion"><div class="iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoMsg_Job"> <div class="iCIMS_Expandable_Container"> <div class="iCIMS_Expandable_Text"> Verra Mobility Values An ideal candidate for this role naturally works in alignment with the Verra Mobility Core Values: <ul> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;">Own It.
