<h1>Employee Benefits Advocacy Intern</h1> <h2>Job details:</h2> <p>Location: Phoenix, Arizona (Onsite)<br>Internship Dates: Summer 2026 (May–August)<br>Schedule: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)<br><br></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2>Role Overview:</h2> <p>Join the MJ Insurance Employee Benefits Advocacy team for a dynamic internship experience focused on meaningful contributions, professional growth, and industry exposure. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are curious, motivated, and eager to make a real impact. Interns will gain firsthand insight into the inner workings of the Employee Benefits (EB) department through hands-on projects, cross-functional collaboration, client interaction, and team engagement.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2>Key Responsibilities</h2> <p><strong>TEAM &amp; DEPARTMENT EXPOSURE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Gain an overview of how Client Executives, Client Managers, and Client Advocates work together</li> <li>Learn the client lifecycle for both Employee Benefits (EB) and Property &amp; Casualty (P&amp;C)</li> <li>Attend Client Experience team meetings, EB department meetings, and team trainings</li> <li>Spend time with Analytics, Population Health &amp; Wellness, and Communications &amp; Engagement to understand how their roles fit in the overall client deliverable.</li> </ul> <p><strong>CLIENT &amp; PROJECT EXPERIENCE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Attend client meetings to observe the Client Executive role and delivery of strategic recommendations</li> <li>Participate in Client Advocate training to understand day-to-day responsibilities</li> <li>Work on at least one main project during the internship</li> <li>Assist with miscellaneous department tasks and deliverables</li> </ul> <p><strong>PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT</strong></p> <ul> <li>Network with insurance professionals through various team events</li> <li>Present a capstone project at the end of the internship</li> <li>Learn about the full scope of the EB department including CE, AM, Producers, Analytics, Total Rewards, and Population Health</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2>Required Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Health/Wellness, Risk Management &amp; Insurance, Business, or a related field</li> <li>Strong organizational and analytical skills</li> <li>Excellent communication and research abilities</li> <li>Detail-oriented and customer service focused</li> <li>Eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment</li> </ul>
