They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.</span></p></div><h3><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE:</strong></h3>
<p>As a Project Manager for Power Generation at xAI, you will own the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale power generation projects that support xAI’s rapidly expanding AI infrastructure. You will lead the development of power plants, substations, generation assets, and grid interconnection projects to ensure reliable, high-capacity power supply for our next-generation data centers. Working cross-functionally with engineering, construction, procurement, and energy teams, you will drive projects from concept through commissioning in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.</p>
<h3>RESPONSIBILITIES:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Lead full lifecycle project management for power generation initiatives, including gas turbines, reciprocating engines, renewables integration, and substation projects</li>
<li>Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans</li>
<li>Manage project risks, issues, and change orders while ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery</li>
<li>Coordinate with utility companies, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders for permitting and grid interconnection</li>
<li>Track project progress, KPIs, and financial performance with clear reporting to leadership</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with engineering teams on technical specifications and design reviews</li>
<li>Drive procurement strategy and vendor/contractor management</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>5+ years of project management experience in power generation, energy infrastructure, or large industrial projects</li>
<li>Proven track record delivering complex, multi-million dollar energy projects on schedule and within budget</li>
<li>Strong working knowledge of power generation technologies (gas, diesel, renewables) and electrical infrastructure</li>
<li>Experience with project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent)</li>
</ul>
<h3>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Background in data center power systems or hyperscale energy projects</li>
<li>Professional certifications (PMP, PE, or equivalent)</li>
<li>Experience with utility-scale generation, battery energy storage systems (BESS), or high-voltage substations</li>
<li>Familiarity with regulatory environments, permitting processes, and grid compliance</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Ability to work onsite in Memphis, TN / Southaven, MS area</li>
<li>Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence across teams</li>
<li>Comfortable operating in a dynamic, rapidly scaling organization with aggressive timelines</li>
