Project Based Learning, experiential learning, and service learning models allow student voice to increase while engaging their academic, enrichment, and social-emotional growth as well.  Summary: The After School Lead Teacher is responsible for leading afternoon care hours with students in PreK-8th Grade. The person in this role plans lessons and facilitates after-school clubs, projects, and group activities within a project based learning theme. Teachers also help establish relationships with community organizations for more diverse and engaging programming. This is a seasonal part time (2:00 - 6:00) position from September through June that is supervised by the OST Director at each school and pays $20/hr. Detailed Responsibilities:  Teaching and Student Monitoring: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">Create lesson plans based on project based learning themes that center around S.T.E.M. arts, movement/ physical education, and social emotional learning (SEL) </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Prepare and facilitate major OST projects and activities with OST groups</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Lead OST clubs through special activities and projects with select students</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Actively supervise students during play and projects</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Monitor student attendance and conduct head counts as students dismiss</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Maintain OST rooms/ spaces and lead daily recovery/ breakdown of rooms and materials</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Establish and maintain positive and supportive relationships with OST/daycare families</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Accompanying and guiding students hosted OST field trips and featured presentations</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Assist in the school-day dismissal of enrolled after-care students and escort children to their assigned afternoon locations</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Serve daily snack and conduct student breaks</li> </ul> Administrative <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">Report to the OST Director and Site Coordinator for daily updates and information</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Assist Director and Site Coordinator with student dismissal and late pick-up, when required</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Complete required child care professional development certifications</li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> <div class="clHeadSecondary"> <h2>Qualifications</h2> </div> <div class=" row"> <div id="jobQualifications-row" class="row formRowStandard "> <div class="formLine"> Education and Experience:  <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">Must be available to work Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 6:00PM</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (or collegiate degree) <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">Certification or degree in early childhood education is a plus</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Special enrichment certifications (teaching artist, educational, or vocational) is a plus</li> </ul> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Minimum of 3 years of child care experience within a child care facility or school-based program</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Two letters of recommendation</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Current CPR certification is preferred </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Mandated Reporter Certification is a plus</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">All employees must be able to provide Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check Clearance (Act 34), Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151), Federal Bureau of Investigation Record Check Clearance (Act 114), and Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Clearance (Act 168) before starting work on campus</li> </ul> Skills and Abilities:  <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">Basic computer, Internet, and social media skills</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Exceptional written communication and lesson planning skills</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Excellent communications skills, particularly with young children</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Creative, energetic, and passionate about after-school enrichment</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Must present strong leadership skills with great follow-through</li> </ul> </div> </div> </div>  <div class="content-conclusion"> Thank you for taking the time to apply to Belmont Charter Network.
