This is a high-impact leadership role ideal for someone with strong accounting and finance acumen, a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, and a passion for driving operational excellence.</p> <p>The Senior Finance Manager will oversee the financial operations for a portfolio of software businesses, lead a globally distributed team, and support ongoing integration and value creation initiatives. This role combines the technical rigor of controllership with the strategic insight of FP&amp;A and business partnership.</p> <p>You will report to an Operating Partner and collaborate closely with Banyan’s Controllership, FP&amp;A, and M&amp;A teams.</p> <p><strong>Location</strong>: Munich</p> <p><strong>Work Type</strong>: Hybrid - in office 2- 3 days per week.&nbsp;</p> <h3><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></h3> <p><strong>Financial Leadership &amp; Oversight</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead all financial operations for a portfolio of high-quality software companies</li> <li>Oversee and review accounting, reporting, treasury, and compliance processes to ensure timely and accurate financial results under US GAAP</li> <li>Manage and mentor offshore finance teams, with a focus on quality control and continuous improvement</li> </ul> <p><strong>Month-End Close &amp; Reporting</strong></p> <ul> <li>Drive timely month-end closes in line with company timelines (e.g., T+6 targets)</li> <li>Prepare and review monthly financial statements, variance analyses, KPIs, and management reports</li> <li>Ensure effective reconciliation, revenue recognition, and cost classification practices<br><br></li> </ul> <p><strong>Budgeting, Forecasting &amp; Analysis</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes for assigned portfolio companies</li> <li>Analyze financial and operational trends, identify risks and opportunities, and partner with CEOs to optimize performance<br>Support strategic decision-making through data-driven insights and scenario modeling<br><br></li> </ul> <p><strong>Integration &amp; Process Improvement</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead the financial integration of newly acquired companies, including policy alignment, systems onboarding, and internal controls implementation</li> <li>Partner with teams to deploy standardized SOPs and best practices across the portfolio</li> <li>Identify and execute finance process automation or optimization opportunities<br><br></li> </ul> <p><strong>Audit, Tax, and Compliance</strong></p> <ul> <li>Coordinate with internal and external audit teams to support Banyan’s global and statutory audit requirements</li> <li>Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and local regulations<br><br></li> </ul> <h3><strong>Qualifications:</strong></h3> <p><strong></strong></p> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>12+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including direct people management and team leadership</li> <li>CPA, CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, FCA, FCCA, or equivalent professional designation required</li> <li>Fluency in both German and English required; additional languages are a plus</li> <li>Demonstrated success leading and developing distributed finance teams, driving organizational change, and implementing scalable process improvements across multiple entities</li> <li>Proven ability to manage complex, multi-workstream projects through offshore and cross-functional teams, with strong prioritization and delegation instincts</li> <li>Executive-level communication skills with a track record of influencing and partnering with C-suite stakeholders and operating partners</li> <li>Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insights and operational recommendations</li> <li>Entrepreneurial mindset with genuine interest in high-growth software businesses and PE-backed environments; thrives with ambiguity and operates with a high degree of autonomy</li> <li>Hands-on experience leading financial integrations of acquired businesses, including ERP/systems onboarding, internal controls implementation, and policy alignment</li> <li>Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP required; experience with software revenue recognition preferred.
