They work closely with new and existing customers to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions to deliver their missions. Building and maintaining relationships with customers and internally with engineering and operations teams is at the core of our Business Development team. They have their fingers on the pulse of the space industry and are driven to deliver results for our customers and our business.</p> <p><strong>BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LEAD, SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS ENGINEERING</strong></p> <p>Based out of Rocket Lab's site in Littleton, CO, the&nbsp;<strong>Business Development Lead</strong> is a key interface between Rocket Lab’s space software customers and the engineering and management teams, to design and propose space software solutions. You will report directly to the Director of Business Development, Software Products, and your primary responsibilities will include:</p> <p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Apply engineering skills and problem-solving to design and propose solutions to customer needs using Rocket Lab's space software products</li> <li>Develop interactive product demonstrations to showcase our space software</li> <li>Support proposals for new business opportunities in collaboration with the business development and engineering teams</li> <li>Work with the business development team to monitor business performance, forecast demand, and present to the Finance and Executive teams</li> <li>Collaborate with the Communications and Business Development teams in generating marketing materials</li> <li>Remain current on the latest satellite competitive landscape, customer and market trends to inform technology roadmaps</li> <li>Travel to relevant conferences and customer locations to support business development activities</li> </ul> <p><strong>YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline</li> <li>5+ years of professional experience in an engineering role within the aerospace industry</li> <li>U.S. citizenship is required, due to program requirements</li> </ul> <p><strong>THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience developing software for autonomous vehicles operating in harsh environments, such as satellites</li> <li>Experience with satellite operations</li> <li>Proficiency in C++, Python or similar programming languages</li> <li>Highly organized and able to solve problems independently, with strong attention to detail</li> <li>Ability to collaborate effectively with team members having diverse skillsets and expertise</li> <li>Ability to communicate complex issues in a digestible manner for customers, staff, and executives</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communications skills</li> <li>Sales management experience and familiarity with diverse business functions such as sales, marketing, public relations, finance, and operations</li> <li>Extensive awareness of current commercial and government satellite programs</li> <li>Experience working with dynamic, geographically disperse teams on fast-paced projects</li> <li>Readily takes ownership and action on challenges, and steps up to manage tough situations while encouraging colleagues and direct reports to do the same</li> <li>Practiced with the use of customer relationship management software</li> <li>Master’s degree in aerospace engineering or related engineering field (electrical, mechanical, computer science, etc.)</li> </ul> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus</li> <li>Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing</li> <li>Must be physically able to commute to buildings</li> <li>Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
