Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.</div>CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT, FLUID SYSTEMS  As a construction superintendent focused on fluid systems at Starbase, you will own the day-to-day execution of field fluids and structural system build activities, including welding, tube bending, and boilermaking, for fluid systems and infrastructure projects at Starbase. This role directs contractors, plans and sequences work, and delivers high-quality, safe, and efficient installations in a fast-paced test and operations environment.  RESPONSIBILITIES:  <ul> <li>Own day-to-day execution of fluid system build projects on site </li> <li>Lead site logistics and operations for fluid system build projects, including scheduling, progress tracking, quality control, and resource allocation</li> <li>Manage SpaceX construction asset material deliveries, storage, and site cleanliness </li> <li>Maintain construction barricades and the site stormwater pollution prevention plan </li> <li>Perform daily field coordination, conflict resolution, and schedule management for contractors and internal teams </li> <li>Oversee procurement and execution of construction projects </li> <li>Develop cost estimates, solicit bids, award contracts, and manage budget, schedule, and scope for fluid system packages </li> <li>Track progress, provide daily updates, and coordinate with end users and facilities teams </li> <li>Manage night shift contractors as required </li> <li>Directly supervise tube benders, boilermakers, fitters, and welders, set daily priorities, and drive productivity and accountability </li> <li>Plan and sequence fluid system build work to align with the project schedule and operational constraints </li> <li>Identify and resolve blockers earl, including material access and engineering issues</li> <li>Serve as the primary point of contact for all build activities between contractors, engineering, and SpaceX teams </li> <li>Resolve field issues in real time, including fit-up interferences and design gaps </li> <li>Ensure all tube bends, fabrications, fit-ups, and installations meet SpaceX quality standard </li> <li>Review drawings, isometric diagrams, and field changes for constructibility </li> <li>Manage contractor badging and security access for contractor personnel </li> <li>Proactively adjust operations to meet deadlines and escalate issues to engineering and project management as needed </li> <li>Assist with hands-on skilled trade work when required (approximately 20% of the time) </li> </ul> BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalency certificate </li> <li>3+ years of professional experience in the construction or aerospace industries, with experience leading or coordinating a labor force </li> <li>3+ years of hands-on experience with a construction trade skill </li> </ul> PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: <ul> <li>Fluid system fabrication experience including tube bending and boilermaking on large-scale industrial or aerospace projects </li> <li>Experience estimating labor hours and managing budgets for fluid system scopes </li> <li>Strong field experience managing fluid system contractors, tube benders, boilermakers, fitters, and multi-disciplinary crews in fast-paced technical environments </li> <li>Ability to read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams, isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, and redlines </li> <li>Experience with fit-up, system tie-ins, modifications, and resolving constructibility issues in the field </li> <li>Solid understanding of fluid system quality requirements, with familiarity of weld quality requirements, visual inspection, and nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods (including radiographic testing) </li> <li>OSHA 30 certification </li> <li>Experience coordinating work around active test and operations environments</li> </ul> ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  <ul> <li>Availability to work extended hours and weekend as needed—flexibility is required</li> <li>Ability to travel to different sites, as needed, up to 20% travel</li> <li>Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting the upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings, and climbing hand-over-hand </li> <li>Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain</li> <li>Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise </li> <li>Stand: Up to 10 hours per day </li> <li>Sit: Up to 10 hours per day </li> <li>Push/Pull: Up to 75lbs. (unassisted) between 1 to 2 hours per day </li> <li>Overhead reach: Up to 10 hours per day </li> <li>Walk: Up to 10 hours per day </li> <li>Lift/Carry: Up to ≤ 50 lbs.
