Tax Intern - Summer 2027 at Assured Guaranty

This position will assist with tax return preparation as well as financial statement disclosures.</p> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <table width="744"> <tbody> <tr> <td width="744"> <p><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></p> </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="744"> <p>The Intern will assist with the following tasks:</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the preparation of GAAP and insurance statutory (SSAP #10) income tax provisions and supporting documentation</li> <li>Assist with the preparation of federal and state income tax returns and related work papers including M-1/M-3 tax adjustment schedules for insurance and non-insurance companies</li> <li>Assist in preparing state premium and municipal tax returns</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of quarterly federal and state estimated tax payment calculations along with extensions and related filings</li> </ul> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <table width="751"> <tbody> <tr> <td width="751"> <p><strong>Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)</strong></p> </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="751"> <ul> <li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel</li> <li>A highly motivated self-starter and successful in a team-oriented setting</li> <li>Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail</li> <li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).</li> <li>Minimum 3.0 GPA.</li> <li>While any discipline will be considered, candidates studying finance or, accounting will be prioritized</li> </ul> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <table width="744"> <tbody> <tr> <td width="744"> <table width="747"> <tbody> <tr> <td width="747"> <table width="747"> <tbody> <tr> <td width="747"> <p>The salary for the position is expected to be from $30 per hour to $32 per hour. The actual salary will depend on various factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience and credentials, salary expectations of applicable candidates, and other applicable market conditions. This position provides a weekly all-firm catered breakfast and lunch (Tuesday and Wednesday) as well as intern-specific meals and events.</p> <p>Note: Housing stipend may be available for interns who will be residing outside of the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) for the duration of the summer internship program (June 8 – July 30).</p> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <p>&nbsp;</p>
