CaptiveAire is assisting Thales Academy, a growing network of private schools, in their search for a Safety Coordinator. This role will work with safety spanning all fourteen campus locations out of Raleigh, NC.   Position Summary The School Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety procedures across campus to support a safe, secure, and well-managed learning environment. This role ensures effective emergency preparedness, daily operational safety, training, and risk management aligned with NC best practices for private schools.   Why Work for Thales Academy? <ul> <li class="s6">Thales Academy is a network of private schools offering a high-quality, affordable Pre-K–12 education rooted in classical curriculum and Direct Instruction. </li> <li class="s6">With campuses in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, Thales provides students with a strong foundation to excel academically, develop strong character, and thrive in college, careers, and life.</li> </ul> Primary Job Responsibilities <div class="s8"> <ul> <li>Reports to the Director of Safety</li> <li>Oversee campus traffic flow, carpool operations, roadway safety, and crossing guard coordination</li> <li>Manage student driver safety protocols and campus parking policies</li> <li>Monitor safety of playgrounds, outdoor spaces, and campus facilities</li> <li>Develop and lead emergency management planning, including lockdown procedures, drills, and staff training</li> <li>Enforce visitor sign-in procedures and controlled access to school buildings</li> <li>Oversee classroom, lab, and shop equipment safety, including required training, student signoffs, and parent liability waivers</li> <li>Ensure safety protocols for field trips and offcampus activities</li> <li>Coordinate first aid readiness, injury reporting, and incident investigations</li> <li>Maintain accurate and concise safety documentation, training records, and compliance materials</li> </ul> </div> Job Requirements <div class="s8"> <ul> <li>BS degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent preferred</li> <li>Experience with site security, education settings, and emergency planning</li> <li style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">Willing to travel 10% to local NC sites for auditing and program roll out.
