<p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Vice President Controller</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p>
<p><span data-contrast="auto">Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President-Controller has primary responsibility for the management of the organization’s accounting department, including all aspects of corporate, development, property, resident services, and treasury functions. As the day-to-day operations leader for the accounting department, this position is responsible for implementing new accounting standards and procedures, ensuring compliance with existing accounting and agency regulations, instituting internal controls to minimize risks as well as the preparation of financial reports for annual audits, tax compliance, management, regulatory agencies, and the Board of Directors. The Vice President-Controller will coordinate the accounting activities with departments across the organization and ensure that all financial transactions / information / reports, policies, and procedures are in accordance with US GAAP standards and are accurately and timely submitted to management and regulatory agencies as required.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p>

<li><span data-contrast="auto">Directs and coordinates the organization’s financial affairs according to financial principles and regulations</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559740":300}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Oversees all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559740":300}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Ensures compliance with US GAAP, regulatory requirements, and MidPen standards, including all financial reporting obligations</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559740":300}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Develops and maintains policies and procedures of financial recordkeeping and reporting; maintains accounting internal controls and safeguards</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559740":300}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Directs the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual, and consolidated financial close processes</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559740":300}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Maintains inter-entity reconciliation and related financial recordkeeping processes to ensure compliance with accounting and control systems</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559740":300}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Reviews financial plans vs. actual results to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559740":300}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Leads all audit and tax preparation activities and manages relationships with auditors and outsourced vendors</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559740":300}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Supports the CFO in engaging the Board and committees (Audit, Finance) on audit, tax, and financial results</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559740":300}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Oversees treasury, cash reporting, and tracks performance of invested assets in line with policies and guidelines</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559740":300}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Administers all aspects of new accounting technology implementation</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559740":300}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="auto">Manages, mentors, and develops a high-performing accounting team; leverages team strengths and clarifies roles and responsibilities</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559740":300}"> </span></li>

<li><span data-contrast="none">Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in accounting from an accredited university and 10 years of progressive accounting responsibility or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="none">Significant accounting leadership experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Officer</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="none">Experience within affordable housing/real estate industry preferred</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
<li><span data-contrast="none">Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification preferred</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li>
