Lumos is looking for a full-time Manager – OSP Construction! If you have experience as a construction leader in telecommunications & FTTH who’s excited for a fast-paced experience, ready to help us grow, and ready to recommend process changes that ensure we’re harnessing our technology to the best of our ability while broadening our ability to set up and maintain our service, we want to hear from you! As a Manager – you’ll power the flawless execution of Outside Plant (OSP) network builds - directly interfacing with & influencing subcontractor teams. You’ll motivate them to accomplish the important efforts that build Lumos’s fiber network – while collaborating with internal Lumos teams to build relationships with local officials & community representatives.  ***Hybrid Position***Remote, WFH job, yet requires regular presence onsite in Forsyth County, GA at multiple jobsites in market. Successful candidates must reside within market or within a reasonable commuting distance. Company vehicle + Mobile phone provided. Valid, fully unencumbered Driver’s License required. We move quickly, collaborate across teams, and believe the best ideas come from people who are curious, solutions-oriented, and ready to build what's next.   What You'll Do: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Accomplishes assigned market builds safely, on time & within budget. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Manages the scheduling and coordination of the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of OSP facilities and the surrounding communities including rehab work, customer & community concern responses, OSP generator routines, and emergency call-outs. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Delegates responsibility effectively & empowers direct reports to accomplish market tasks – designing builds, tracking & reporting progress, and motivating contractor crews. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Influences internal & external teams to ensure commitment to progress and staying on-target. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Interfaces directly with local governments & communities – responding timely & graciously.  </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Keeps internal & external stakeholders informed on build progress at all times. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Provides technical leadership and expertise to direct reports and subcontractor partner teams; establishes, standardizes and improves processes. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Coordinates with various utilities partners and associated pole, aerial, etc. teams in alignment with internal Lumos engineering teams to carefully plan & execute all necessary objectives. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Manages CAPEX, OPEX, and inventory tracking – tracking progress & approving expenses. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Accountable for building & maintaining a high-performing team: selects top-tier candidates, evaluates performance, and identifies training & coaching opportunities. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Performs other duties as assigned, including departmental and cross-functional projects. </li> </ul> What You'll Bring: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Excellent verbal & written communication skills. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong experience influencing & directing the work of others. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Exceptional interpersonal skills: capable of respectfully engaging with direct reports, multiple internal teams, external contractors, and a wide variety of community stakeholders. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Solid experience with computer and peripherals, and software including Smart Sheets or similar as well as MS Office: particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word; Visio and PPT helpful. </li> </ul> What Makes You a Great Fit: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">10+ years’ experience in OSP construction, engineering, or operations fiber builds. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">2-5 years’ experience leading techs and contractors in a fiber build environment. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Proven project management skills; able to effectively manage and accomplish multiple concurrent milestones to closure within assigned market. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Proactive, independent, and ability to take initiative to keep on-task and on-target.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Active, fully unencumbered driver’s license. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Fiber or Telecom industry experience is essential. </li> </ul> Physical Requirements: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Frequently operates computer, keyboard, and related peripherals.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Frequent travel to construction sites – standing, walking & safely navigating in all weather. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Near-constant use of sight, speech, hearing, comprehension and reasoning. </li> </ul> <div class="content-conclusion">Benefits & Perks: Our commitment to communities includes recruiting and rewarding the Lumos team members who are working together to build a brighter tomorrow.
