Advanced ML and AI teams use our enterprise platform to run their own data factories, and our services team to extend their reach where in-house capacity runs out.</p> <p><br>If you want to do work that materially shapes how the next generation of AI products gets built, we'd love to talk.</p></div><p><strong>Field Data Collection Specialist</strong></p> <p class="p1">HumanSignal is looking for Field Data Collection Specialists in the Columbus area to support a short-term, outdoor data collection project. You’ll travel to assigned locations, navigate a variety of outdoor environments, and use specialized equipment to collect high-quality field data.</p> <p class="p1">This is an active, hands-on role that could be a great fit for hikers, outdoor enthusiasts, land surveyors, or anyone who enjoys spending significant time outdoors, navigating different locations, and working with technology.</p> <p><strong>What you’ll do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Travel to assigned data collection locations within approximately one hour of Columbus.</li> <li>Use mobile devices and specialized equipment to collect field data according to defined project requirements.</li> <li>Follow detailed collection protocols to ensure data is captured accurately and consistently.</li> <li>Navigate assigned locations and complete designated routes independently.</li> <li>Communicate progress, technical issues, and field challenges to the project team.</li> <li>Complete assigned work and project deliverables on schedule.</li> </ul> <p><span class="s1"><strong>Who you are</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>You have reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license.</li> <li>You are technically savvy and comfortable learning new devices, applications, and equipment.</li> <li>You can work independently, stay organized, and carefully follow detailed instructions.</li> <li>You are dependable and comfortable navigating unfamiliar locations and environments.</li> <li>Experience with LiDAR, land surveying, GIS, mapping, or geospatial technology is a plus, but not required.</li> <li>Experience or a strong interest in hiking, outdoor recreation, location-based activities, or similar activities is a plus.</li> </ul> <p><span class="s1"><strong>Physical &amp; field requirements</strong></span></p> <p class="p3">The following are essential functions of this field-based role and must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:</p> <ul> <li>Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.</li> <li>Walk or hike up to approximately 5 miles at one time and up to approximately 10 miles over the course of a day.</li> <li>Navigate uneven, unpaved, and rough outdoor terrain.</li> <li>Carry approximately 15–20 pounds of field equipment in a backpack for sustained periods while walking or hiking.</li> <li>Work outdoors across varying terrain and typical seasonal weather conditions.</li> </ul> <p class="p1">HumanSignal will consider reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities to enable them to perform the essential functions of the role.</p> <p><span class="s1"><strong>Details</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>3-week contract</li> <li>Approximately 40 hours/week</li> <li>$1,000–$1,200/week, depending on relevant experience</li> <li class="p1">Occasional evening and weekend availability required</li> <li>Field-based work in Columbus and surrounding areas</li> <li>Reliable personal transportation required</li> </ul>
