Our mandate is to bridge the traditional world of finance with the innovation&nbsp;of cryptocurrency products, providing our clients with a best-in-class financial institution&nbsp;experience.</p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>The Role:</strong> <strong>Accounting Manager</strong></span></p> <p>Gemini is looking to hire a dynamic accounting manager responsible for day-to-day accounting&nbsp;operations, ensure accurate financial reporting and maintain compliance with GAAP and internal<br>policies. This is a unique role with a broad remit across technical accounting, multiple locations,&nbsp;and day-to-day GL operations. You’ll be joining a rapidly growing and high-quality, established&nbsp;digital asset exchange that is regulated by the New York State Department of Financial Services&nbsp;and others globally. This appointment will be central to our continued scaling as an organization&nbsp;and efforts to increase transparency and public company reporting. This role will report directly&nbsp;to the Controller and be involved in key / high priority growth projects impacting the Finance&nbsp;department as well as the overall organization.</p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Own the close process for assigned areas</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Assist in analysis of technical accounting areas, particularly around digital assets and emerging guidance</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Analyze fluctuations and trends in financial statement line items and provide insightful commentary</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Partner cross-functionally with FP&amp;amp;A, Tax, Legal, and Operations teams to support business initiatives and ensure proper accounting treatment</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Support the preparation of audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors for annual financial statement audits and quarterly reviews</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Contribute to SOX implementation and documentation of internal controls</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Identify automation opportunities within the accounting function and work with the Finance Transformation team to streamline processes</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Mentor staff and senior accountants and help build a high-performing team</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Lead or support special projects as needed</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>An undergraduate degree in accounting, economics, finance or related field</li> <li>5-7 years of accounting experience</li> <li>Big 4 accounting firm experience is a plus</li> <li>CPA strongly preferred</li> <li>Strong technical accounting skills; experience with digital assets or fintech a plus</li> <li>Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills</li> <li>Proven track record of meeting deadlines and ownership of complex areas</li> <li>Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced and changing financial environment with the demonstrated capacity for excellent judgment, communication, and negotiation skills</li> <li>Outstanding interpersonal skills and relationship building abilities</li> </ul> <div class="p-rich_text_section"><strong data-stringify-type="bold">It Pays to Work Here</strong></div> <div class="p-rich_text_section">&nbsp;</div> <div class="p-rich_text_section">The compensation &amp; benefits package for this role includes:</div> <ul class="p-rich_text_list p-rich_text_list__bullet" data-stringify-type="unordered-list" data-indent="0" data-border="0"> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">Competitive starting pay</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">A discretionary annual bonus</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">Long-term incentive in the form of a new hire equity grant</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">Comprehensive health plans</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">401K with company matching</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">Paid Parental Leave</li> <li data-stringify-indent="0" data-stringify-border="0">Flexible time off</li> </ul> <p><strong>Salary Range</strong>: The base salary range for this role is between $112,000 - $160,000 in the State of New York. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.</p> <p><em>In the United States, we offer a hybrid work approach at our hub offices, balancing the benefits of in-person collaboration with the flexibility of remote work.
