Join us and help build the future of global investing!</span></p></div><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>We are seeking a&nbsp;<strong>Senior Software Engineer</strong> to join our <strong>Brokerage Platform as a Service</strong> and API teams. In this role, you will work on the design and development of high-performance, scalable, and low-latency applications using <strong>Java, Kafka, Postgres on AWS</strong>. You’ll help build <strong>event-driven microservices</strong> that enable real-time data processing and high-throughput transaction handling. You will also contribute to optimizing the performance of databases, including strategies like partitioning to support our high-transaction environment.</p> <p>As a <strong>Senior Software Engineer</strong>, you will collaborate with other engineers to ensure systems are designed for reliability, scalability, and performance, while focusing on delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced, cloud-native environment.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and develop high-performance, multi-threaded applications in <strong>Java</strong>, optimized for <strong>low-latency</strong> and <strong>high-throughput</strong>.</li> <li>Build and enhance <strong>event-driven microservices</strong> to ensure our platform can scale and handle high transaction volumes in real time.</li> <li>Contribute to the design and implementation of <strong>database partitioning</strong> strategies to support distributed, high-transaction environments, ensuring the systems are efficient and scalable.</li> <li>Implement and maintain <strong>messaging systems</strong> (e.g., <strong>Kafka</strong>) for asynchronous communication across services.</li> <li>Collaborate with other engineers to design, implement, and improve <strong>CI/CD pipelines</strong>, enabling automated, efficient software delivery.</li> <li>Write and maintain <strong>automated tests</strong> to ensure the stability and performance of the system, improving the quality and speed of development.</li> <li>Optimize systems for <strong>performance</strong> and <strong>reliability</strong>, focusing on key non-functional requirements such as <strong>availability</strong>, <strong>scalability</strong>, and <strong>fault tolerance</strong>.</li> <li>Participate in <strong>code reviews</strong> and <strong>mentorship</strong>, sharing knowledge and helping junior engineers improve their technical skills.</li> <li>Work closely with infrastructure and product teams to ensure the software aligns with business goals and technical requirements</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You’ll Need</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>7+ years</strong> of experience in <strong>software engineering</strong>, with a focus on <strong>Java</strong> and building <strong>high-performance systems</strong></li> <li>Strong experience with <strong>multi-threading</strong>, <strong>concurrent programming</strong>, and designing <strong>low-latency</strong> systems to handle high throughput efficiently</li> <li>Experience in designing and building <strong>event-driven microservices</strong> using technologies like <strong>Kafka</strong> or <strong>ActiveMQ</strong></li> <li>Familiarity with <strong>database partitioning</strong> and <strong>sharding</strong> strategies to scale relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., <strong>PostgreSQL</strong>, <strong>MySQL</strong>, <strong>Cassandra</strong>)</li> <li>Knowledge of <strong>cloud-native architectures</strong> and experience with cloud platforms such as <strong>AWS</strong></li> <li>Hands-on experience in implementing <strong>CI/CD pipelines</strong> and working with <strong>DevOps</strong> tools to improve software delivery</li> <li>Experience with <strong>automated testing</strong> frameworks to ensure software quality and performance</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex systems and optimize them for performance and reliability</li> <li>A collaborative mindset, with experience working in <strong>agile teams</strong> and a strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly</li> </ul> <p>Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. DriveWealth is unable to sponsor an employment Visa at this time.</p> <p><strong>Special Knowledge (Nice to Have, But Not Rqequired)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with <strong>containerization</strong> (e.g., <strong>Docker</strong>) and <strong>Kubernetes</strong> for managing cloud-based services</li> <li>Experience with <strong>distributed tracing</strong> or <strong>performance monitoring</strong> tools (e.g., <strong>Prometheus</strong>, <strong>Grafana</strong>)</li> <li>Experience in&nbsp;<strong>financial systems</strong> or <strong>brokerage platforms</strong>, with an understanding of performance and reliability challenges specific to such domains</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>Compensation package offerings are based on candidate experience and technical qualifications, as it relates to the role.
