This role is ideal for a passionate advocate who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is confident in the courtroom, and committed to delivering top-tier legal representation for our personal injury clients. You will handle a full litigation caseload, with the support of a dedicated team.    Key Responsibilities: <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Handle and manage Personal Injury files from file through trial.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Work up litigation files from filing the lawsuit, writing discovery and depositions, and trying the case. </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Willingness and ability to regularly interact with clients, adjusters, staff and other lawyers.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Successfully lead a litigation team of 5 plus people.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Litigate a case from beginning to end.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Have good work ethics and present strong attention to detail.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to work cohesively in a team environment.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience in supervising and managing other team members.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Pre-Litigation case management and negotiation experience.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience handling cases involving commercial motor vehicles. </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Willing to expand knowledge of trucking litigation and obtain board certification in truck accident law.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Willing to work independently yet be accountable.</li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Graduate of an ABA-accredited law school  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Current member and in good standing of the Illinois Bar </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Minimum of 3 years of Personal Injury litigation experience  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide effective solutions  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Attention to detail and strong organizational skills    </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Trial experience preferred  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Commercial case experience a plus  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experiencing litigating trucking and other commercial motor vehicle cases a plus</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus</li> </ul> Physical Requirements:   <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.   </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.  May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs. </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
