JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY: The Infusion Technician assists with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing intravenous medications (chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy) under the supervision of medical oncologists and oncology RNs to ensure the safe and accurate preparation of IV medications for patients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Compounding IV medications: This involves measuring and mixing medications, sterile solutions, and additives according to established protocols and guidelines. IV technicians must follow aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during the compounding process.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Labeling and packaging: IV technicians are responsible for properly labeling and packaging the compounded IV medications, ensuring that all necessary information, such as patient name, medication name, dosage, and expiration date, is clearly indicated.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Inventory management: IV technicians are responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of IV medications, quantities, lot numbers/expiration date accuracy, supplies, and equipment. This includes ordering, receiving, and restocking medications as needed.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Quality control: IV technicians must adhere to quality control standards and procedures to ensure the accuracy, sterility, and safety of compounded IV medications. IV technicians will also be involved in department quality improvement initiatives.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Environmental monitoring: IV pharmacy technicians participate in maintaining both environmental controls (ex: filling out appropriate logs, daily/monthly cleaning) and personnel controls (ex: donning appropriate PPE).</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Hood certification: IV technicians participate in the certification procedure every 6 months.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor such as cross training in oral chemo dispensaries.</li> </ul> <h1>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</h1> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Knowledge of basic pharmacy practices, procedures, medication, and supplies.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Excellent interpersonal, customer and patient service skills.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.</li> </ul> <h1>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:</h1> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">High School diploma or equivalent.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician License (CA/AZ) or Active Registration with State Board (NV).</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Minimum two years’ experience in compounding IV admixtures, preferably including IV chemotherapy.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">National Pharmacy Technician Certification is strongly preferred.</li> </ul>  Schedule Details <ul> <li>In-Person</li> <li>Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm</li> <li>Local travel will be required, mileage will be reimbursed</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description">The estimate displayed represents the typical wage range of candidates hired.
