Network Administrator (5296) at SMX

<p>SMX is looking for a highly motivated&nbsp;<strong>Network Administrator&nbsp;</strong>to join our growing team in Patuxent River, MD!&nbsp;</p> <p>This position will provide onsite support at Patuxent River NAS in southern Maryland and requires a <strong>DoD Top Secret</strong> Security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.</p> <p>As the Network Administrator, you will join a team of highly-driven, supportive, and skilled professionals engaged in supporting program management, technical, or business case analysis across the NAVAIR community.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage and administer all network devices including deployment of new technologies</li> <li>Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and application-level connectivity and performance problems</li> <li>Maintain network boundary security&nbsp;</li> <li>Participate in network security incident investigations</li> <li>Perform audit reviews of STIG standards and STIG updates of assigned devices</li> <li>Perform reviews of vulnerabilities and perform remediation planning and execution</li> <li>Maintain documentation including work instructions, SOPs, processes and desk guides</li> <li>Other tasks as assigned by customer POCs, Team Lead, and Management team</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Skills and Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Clearance Required: Top Secret <ul> <li>Secret required to start</li> </ul> </li> <li>IAT Level 2 or higher certification (Examples of minimum acceptable certifications-CCNA Security, CySA+, G SEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)</li> <li>3-year minimum experience with networking device configuration and support</li> <li>3-year minimum experience with IP networking design</li> <li>3-year minimum experience with virtual server environments</li> <li>Knowledge of DoD Information Assurance practices, including Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)</li> <li>Must be able to interact with peers, management, and senior engineers in a constantly evolving environment to ensure a positive customer experience and atmosphere in the workplace.</li> <li>Must be able to follow defined and documented customer processes and policies, and perform tasking where there may be documentation gaps</li> <li>Experience working with network infrastructure devices and protocols, and proven ability to design, deploy, and maintain solutions supporting high-availability network infrastructures.</li> <li>Must be highly motivated and will be required to respond to and provide resolutions to problems on a timely basis.</li> <li>Experience with planning, configuring, managing, monitoring and troubleshooting of a variety of network systems.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desired Skills &amp; Experience:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with Linux is a plus</li> <li>Ability to be a self-starter and have the initiative to learn more advanced operations and technologies</li> </ul> <p>#cjpost #LI-Onsite</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>&nbsp;</p> <hr> <p><span style="font-size: 16px;">The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
