Social Editor, The Strategist at Vox Media

<p>We’re looking for a social editor to help manage the Strategist’s social accounts. This person will work across social platforms to develop ideas, create written and video content, manage tentpole events across platforms, and represent the brand in a way that feels fresh, culturally aware, and unmistakably us.You should be able to flawlessly write a caption, film and edit&nbsp; green-screen takes of a news post for Tik Tok, ideate social-only rubrics with our team of writers, as well as asking talent questions for social video.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2><strong>WHO WE ARE</strong></h2> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Strategist is New York Magazine’s site for rigorously reported service journalism that helps readers shop smartly. Responsible for both creating content and posting across social platforms.&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop, film and edit quick-turn videos and recurring franchises across TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms.</li> <li>Track shopping trends, pitch creative concepts, and help evolve our tone and social identity.</li> <li>Write and produce smart, engaging copy and visuals that reflect The Strategist’s distinctive tone and perspective.</li> <li>Collaborate with editorial, art, and social teams on rollout plans for major packages, covers, and sales events.</li> <li>Identify and track emerging trends, memes, and conversations across the shopping space.</li> <li>Help build and refine strategies to grow engagement and reach across new and existing platforms.</li> <li>Be proactive in pitching ideas, testing formats, and finding new ways to make The Strategist’s stories travel.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2><strong>WHO YOU ARE</strong></h2> <ul> <li>A shopping obsessive with a deep passion for service journalism – you’re a compulsive noticer with an eagle eye for detail</li> <li>Chronically online with a finger on the pulse of trends, influencers, and relevant voices in the shopping space</li> <li>Strong, engaging writing voice.
