About the Role

As A&R Director, you will play a pivotal role in initiating, supporting and implementing A&R strategy that incorporates facilitating cooperation with established and new artists who are already or have the chance to be commercially successful, finding the right songs and projects for new and current priority artists and overseeing the ongoing development and recording of all assigned artists. All of the above is not limited to only artists, seeking label partnerships are also a key priority.   <div class="iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoMsg_Job"> <div class="iCIMS_Expandable_Container"> <div class="iCIMS_Expandable_Text"> <h2>What you'll do:</h2> <ul> <li>Identify developing and established artists for RCA Greater China review and signing, using existing network or resources. </li> <li>Identify developing and established label partners for RCA Greater China cooperation, using existing network or resources. </li> <li>Work closely with MD to manage the short and long term goals of the label. </li> <li>Project Management: Overseeing A&R process and artist engagements, working with the team to cooperate and communicate between artists, producers, teams, suppliers, etc. </li> <li>Responsible A&R daily management including tracking and coordinating the progress and timeline of production projects with the team, integrates the relevant admin works, regularly updates the Release Schedule of RCA label, deliver various reports, updates, and other relevant presentation materials on behalf of the team. </li> <li>Budget tracking and management of procurement, Purchase Order, and invoicing processes </li> <li>Liaising, “brainstorming” and meeting with internal teams to discuss A&R’s strategy. </li> <li>Demonstrate a good ear for music that will help the artist(s) success and be able to identify the singles that will be hits and provide creative feedback. </li> <li>Attend shows and showcases of both signed and unsigned artists on a regular basis. </li> <li>Manage the administrative and deal making process for prospective clients. </li> <li>Work closely with Finance and BLA to formulate deal prospects. </li> <li>Work with MD to set out company priorities and release timelines. </li> <li>Work closely with other label departments/employees including Copyright, Royalty, Artist Management, Marketing & Promotion, Data Analytics, Commercial & Sales, Creative Services, etc. </li> <li>Provide Artist Management support. </li> <li>Special projects (e.g., TFT, SMP interpolation, writing camps, Virtual Artists, Soundtracks etc.).</li> </ul> <div class="iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoMsg_Job"> </div> <h2 class="iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoField_Job">Who you are:</h2> <ul> <li>Undergraduate degree required. </li> <li>Minimum 8 years’ experience in the music industry.   </li> <li>Strong relationships with artists, songwriters, producers, companies/industry resources are required. </li> <li>Expertise in songwriting and production is a plus. </li> <li>Knowledge and experience in the music industry, with strong understanding of recording, production, creative, legal, copyright, music publishing, and general knowledge of digital marketing, social media, content, streaming landscape, and key industry players. </li> <li>Open-minded; avid music fan across all genres.  Strong desire to make a difference and contribute to successful outcomes. </li> <li>A proactive self-starter.
