In this role, you’ll work with integrated instrumentation, robotics, informatics, and control system solutions across biopharmaceutical, cell and gene therapy, clinical diagnostic, analytical, and discovery labs. As a senior member of the team, you’ll lead projects with independence, shape the Automation & Informatics technical approach, and support the growth of junior engineers through mentorship. This role connects lab automation with enterprise systems through LIMS/ELN integration, data pipelines, API/middleware solutions, and digital lab orchestration to support compliant data flow. 10-20% travel associated with this role. You will:  <ul> <li>Design, deploy, and support automated lab systems for pharma and life sciences clients in GxP environments</li> <li>Lead projects independently, guide Automation & Informatics technical direction, and mentor junior engineers</li> <li>Translate lab workflows and assay needs into specifications, roadmaps, architectures, and platform strategies</li> <li>Create URS, FRS, SDS, IQ/OQ/PQ, and other documentation aligned with GAMP5 and 21 CFR Part 11</li> <li>Build, test, deploy, commission, troubleshoot, and train users on lab automation systems</li> <li>Integrate LIMS and ELN platforms (e.g., SampleManager, LabWare, STARLIMS, LabVantage, Benchling), including sample/result data flow and structured data capture</li> <li>Engineer data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and compliant, validated data traceability</li> <li>Architect APIs, middleware, and SQL databases for audit-trail, time-series, and compliance data models</li> <li>Configure workflow orchestration platforms (e.g., SiLA 2, Benchling Workflows, Tetrascience) and lead digital lab modernization, AI-ready infrastructure, and autonomous lab enablement</li> <li>Coordinate across instrumentation, informatics, and controls teams while serving as the technical contact for life sciences stakeholders</li> <li>Be an ambassador who embodies our <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNgpHEJiRb0">Core Values</a>, prioritizing the success of E Tech Group, our clients, and the professional development of our associates.</li> </ul>   You have:  <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Information Systems, or equivalent technical experience; advanced degree preferred</li> <li>Experience with laboratory informatics, data integration, or digital lab systems</li> <li>Knowledge of pharmaceutical informatics architectures and applying ALCOA+ data integrity principles to automated data flows</li> <li>Experience with FDA-regulated software development and validation, including GAMP5 Category 3–5 classification</li> <li>Familiarity with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, cGMP, and CSV/CSA requirements</li> <li>Working knowledge of ISA/IEC 62443 cybersecurity practices for laboratory automation</li> <li>Experience with software development practices such as Git version control, code review, and release management</li> <li>A DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork.</li> </ul>    You may have:  <ul> <li>Experience integrating OSI PI / AVEVA PI and designing Asset Framework hierarchies</li> <li>Cloud architecture experience for laboratory data in AWS or Azure, including data lakes, compute, identity, and cost layers</li> <li>Experience integrating Chromatography Data Systems, such as Waters Empower or Thermo Chromeleon</li> <li>Experience orchestrating agentic AI for lab workflows, including audit trails, approvals, and defined decision boundaries</li> <li>Familiarity with Digital Lab or Lab of the Future frameworks and connected lab ecosystems spanning instruments, robotics, and enterprise systems</li> </ul>    Benefits & Perks:  <ul> <li>401k + match + prompt enrollment.  E Tech Group employees are 100% vested upon entry. </li> <li>Prompt enrollment into Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits. </li> <li>Generous paid time off that includes paid vacation, paid holidays, paid family leave and sick time off. </li> <li>Learning and growth are key parts of the E Tech culture.
