About the Role

<p><strong>Job Summary:</strong></p> <p>This position is in downtown Austin, Texas, in office, and will be an intern of the WhiteWater accounting department. &nbsp;Responsibilities include preparation of accounting transactions and month end close entries. Position will additionally assist in monthly reporting and accounting team projects.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Enter accounting data into the ERP system</li> <li>Complete monthly journal entries and account reconciliations</li> <li>Maintain accounting files</li> <li>Learn about daily accounting tasks and activities; integrate accounting theory and practice</li> <li>Develop communication and interpersonal skills</li> <li>Assist the accounting department with development of procedures to improve workflow efficiency and maintaining internal controls</li> <li>Assist the operations department with interpreting new revenue contracts and determining the proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606</li> <li>Assist in evaluating the appropriate accounting of term easements for leases in accordance with ASC 842</li> <li>Participate in any additional ad hoc / special projects as assigned by supervisor</li> <li>At the conclusion of the internship, prepare and deliver a presentation to management that highlights the skills and knowledge gained during the internship</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Successful candidates must have completed at least four (4) semesters of college or university curriculum and be currently enrolled toward a degree in Finance or Accounting</li> <li>Minimum of 9 hours in accounting coursework</li> <li>Ability to apply strong diligence and multi-task</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li> <li>Strong academic aptitude and well-developed analytical problem-solving skills</li> <li>Demonstrated success in completing team projects and working in a team environment</li> <li>Ability to work 15-20 hours per week or more</li> <li>Flexible on internship duration for local candidates</li> <li>Maintain regular attendance</li> </ul> <p>This position is in office and you must be able to provide your own housing.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
