The business is one of the fastest-growing segments within DoorDash, and yet is only scratching the surface of a generational opportunity to better serve hundreds of thousands of merchants across the Americas and improve working lives in one of the country's biggest industry sectors.

You will operate with the speed and autonomy of an early-stage startup, but with the resources, data, and scale of a public company. The team is small, the problems are complex, and your work will directly shape how we go to market, what we build, and how thousands of merchants grow their businesses.

About the Role

You’ll build, refine, and own the infrastructure and operating models that support the growth of DoorDash’s Enterprise Digital Ordering business, helping enterprise restaurant merchants transform their first-party digital experiences. As part of a key pillar within DoorDash’s Commerce Platform, you’ll work on high-impact initiatives with visibility across senior leadership, including the executive team.

Within the Launch / Solutions Architect pod, you’ll partner with Product, Engineering, Integrations, Design, Merchant Operations, Analytics, Marketing, and Finance, while working directly with enterprise merchants. You’ll help build and scale a platform that brings together DoorDash products and restaurant integrations to help merchants reach and retain customers, preserve their distinct brand identity, and grow sales.

What You'll Work On

As a member of the DoorDash Commerce Platform Strategy & Operations (S&O) team, you will play a critical role in driving growth across our various products and services. You will be a founding member of the Product Operations function and help us build a world class ProdOps team while delivering 1st party online ordering products to market for our Enterprise restaurant partners.

Your initial focus will be to build, refine, and own the infrastructure required to support massive growth in our nascent Enterprise Digital Ordering business. You’ll do this by partnering cross-functionally, winning prioritization of key projects (largely through influence), and creating systems that allow for seamless execution and constant improvement at scale.

As the team and product mature, your scope will expand to additional projects that help the Platform team build and drive adoption for digital ordering products in the Enterprise segment.

Join to help us:

Establish, improve, and own processes required to launch Merchants onto our suite of digital products

Help Mx customize and optimize their first-party digital ordering experience

Build and lead a high performing Product Operations team

You will be aligned to specific products or partnerships, and you will own all work streams related to building and executing strategies to drive growth, increase adoption, make operations more efficient, and collaborate cross-functionally to bring solutions to life.

Our products sit within the DoorDash Commerce Platform that serves enterprise restaurant brands, regional chains, and independent operators. You'll be working across multiple products at varying stages of maturity.

You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will …

Build and own the business – Drive growth and adoption of some of our top priority projects

Business development – Develop and foster deep relationships with top priority merchant partners to iterate and grow the business. Key Merchant point of contact within the Strategic Initiatives Strategy & Ops team

Go-to-market strategy – Build a strong understanding of product market fit, value proposition, pricing, and the competitive landscape, and help the team develop a go-to-market strategy based on these inputs. Grow a high-potential offering within a high-growth business.

Improve the product – Guide operational improvements for our merchant partners by understanding their needs and working with internal partners to design solutions throughout the product experience. Steer the Drive product roadmap informed by quantitative analysis and qualitative merchant feedback

Influence – Work cross-functionally with our Product, Engineering, Finance, Analytics, Support, Sales and Account Management teams to drive growth and scale.

Experiment – Evaluate and test various revenue, cost and quality drivers.

We’re Excited About You Because…

You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher

You have 3+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, or operations; high-growth/early-stage startup or entrepreneurial experience is a big plus

Your expert communication and interpersonal skills set you apart

You are a strong analytical thinker who can provide applicable recommendations out of a complex, sometimes murky, dataset

You have a bias towards action and are able to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment

You crave responsibility and want to shape the vision and direction of the company

You’re willing to get your hands dirty and you’re open to feedback.

What You'll Actually Do

This is as much a strategy role as it is an operations role. Below are examples of the types of problems you'll be tasked with owning or supporting upon joining the team:

Run competitive positioning. Map the landscape, build the case for why merchants should buy this over alternatives (or over doing nothing, which can sometimes be the more common competitor).

Sell directly to merchants. This is a consultative sales motion. You'll be on calls with merchant decision-makers — marketers, operations leads, franchise business consultants — deeply understanding their workflows and goals to help them understand how these tools can solve their day to day problems and provide them with additional leverage.

Onboard merchants. Design and run the onboarding experience. Figure out what drives high adoption and stickiness across different org structures.

Shape the product. You're the closest person to the merchant. You'll feed quantitative data and qualitative feedback into the product roadmap. When operators tell you something, you'll ask 20 more questions to more deeply understand where they're coming from — and whether the product, the pitch, or both need to change.

Work cross-functionally. Our closest team members are Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Sales — the right person for this role can get technical where needed (hello Claude Code!) and collaborate heavily with account owners to sell direct to Merchants. If you've ever thought - "I wish a job existed where I could build new products alongside Product/Eng, and engage directly with end customers" then you're in luck.

This Role Is for You If...

You've brought a product to market before — or been close enough to the process that you know what it actually takes (not just the framework, the work)

You're genuinely curious about the product. You'd ask for a demo before you started strategizing about go-to-market. You'd want to understand the problems a merchant is trying to solve before building a pitch deck.

You can sell. Not "support the sales team" sell — actually get on a call with decision makers, understand their problems and objections and influence them.

You're comfortable with ambiguity. These products are at different stages. Priorities shift. You'll need to manage context-switch between building a prototype, standing up a new merchant facing process and troubleshooting a merchant issue in the same afternoon.

You use AI tools to give yourself leverage. You build workflows in Claude Code, automate analysis, and use AI to move faster than someone without those tools. This is how you operate day-to-day, not something you're "interested in exploring."

You have a strong personality and build rapport easily. You can work with opinionated, direct stakeholders and hold your own without being combative.

You'd rather go talk to an end customer than sit in a room theorizing about what they want.

This Role Is NOT for You If...

You need structure handed to you. There's no established playbook, no onboarding curriculum for the products, no "here's how we've always done it."

You're more comfortable analyzing than doing. This role requires you to build things, sell things, and make decisions with incomplete information — not write recommendation decks.

Your AI fluency means using ChatGPT to wordsmith emails and polish slide decks. We mean something different: using tools like Claude Code to build workflows, automate repetitive analysis, and give yourself operational leverage. If that distinction doesn't resonate, this isn't the right fit.

You operate better on an island. The cross-functional partners here are smart and opinionated. You need to build trust and navigate that these relationships both internally and externally.

You want a clearly scoped lane. This is a Swiss-army-knife role across multiple products at different stages. If you want to go deep on one thing, this will frustrate you.

What We're Looking For

We care more about what you've done and how you think than anything else.

Backgrounds that tend to map well:

Restaurant or food tech operators who've been close to the merchant experience

SaaS go-to-market roles, especially at early-stage or growth-stage companies

Startup operators who've worn multiple hats and built processes from scratch

Consultants - but the kind who built things, not just advised on them

Product Managers - you have deep digital product experience & strong instincts: you’ve studied and built world class consumer experiences (ideally in ecommerce).

What matters:

You've done some version of consultative selling — whether that was your title or not

You have real product curiosity (you dig into how things work, not just how to position them)

You're fluent with AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, similar) as part of your daily workflow

You can write clearly, present persuasively, and hold a room with senior stakeholders

You offer program/project management expertise: you can masterfully scope and manage a months-long, complex/technical project from end to end (and likely even have preferred processes and tools to do so).

You’re a strong communicator: you can interface with senior audiences, internally and externally; you can easily articulate complex details and help audiences quickly understand the “so what”

You have an extreme sense of ownership: you take full responsibility for your scope of work. You are proactive in solving ambiguous problems and inspire your teammates to excel.

You’re detail-oriented: you have meticulous attention to detail, ensuring no small element is overlooked. Your thoroughness helps you anticipate issues and plan beyond immediate tasks.

You’re even-keeled: you thrive under pressure and maintain a sense of calm when facing challenging and time-sensitive goals.

You’re a builder: you thrive on building from the ground up. You excel at creating structure and process, and you’re resourceful in figuring out answers to complex questions with minimal oversight.

You’re low ego: you want to GSD and are willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen; no responsibility or task is too trivial or “too tactical.”

Applications for this position are accepted on an ongoing basis

Compensation

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
