<h1>Site Infrastructure Engineer (Networking &amp; Compute)</h1> <h2>About the team</h2> <p>The Site Infrastructure team owns server and network infrastructure across Avride's physical locations — AV garages and offices. We ensure R&amp;D and fleet operations have the reliable compute and connectivity they need as the autonomous vehicle fleet scales.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2>About the role</h2> <p>You will own two domains: server hardware and on-site networking. This is a hands-on, on-site role that puts you at the center of building and scaling the physical infrastructure behind Avride's self-driving technology.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2>What you will do</h2> <ul> <li>Assemble, image, rack, and cable custom-built servers — often non-standard configurations with the latest CPUs and GPUs</li> <li>Deploy and maintain switches, routers, and structured cabling across garage and office sites</li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, network, and ISP connectivity issues end to end</li> <li>Select server configurations based on workload requirements and hardware trade-offs</li> <li>Maintain high-throughput network performance and uptime across all locations</li> <li>Manage physical site infrastructure: rack layouts, cabling runs, power, cooling, and equipment lifecycle</li> <li>Create and maintain internal documentation: runbooks, infrastructure diagrams, and configuration notes</li> <li>Partner with engineering and operations teams to support testing, development, and production needs</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2>What you will need</h2> <ul> <li>Proficiency with enterprise network equipment at an administrator or engineer level (MikroTik, Cisco, Juniper, Ubiquiti, FS, or similar)</li> <li>Strong grasp of routing, switching, VLANs, and high-throughput network architecture</li> <li>Solid Linux administration skills (system-level configuration, diagnostics, networking stack)</li> <li>Experience assembling, troubleshooting, and selecting optimal server hardware configurations</li> <li>Comfort with physical work: racking, stacking, cabling, and maintaining server room environments</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2>Nice to have</h2> <ul> <li>Experience with server room or small-DC design (power planning, cooling, layout)</li> <li>Familiarity with NixOS or declarative system management</li> <li>Scripting skills (Python, Bash)</li> <li>Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible)</li> <li>Track record of scaling infrastructure in a fast-growing environment</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em class="italic-text">Candidates are required to be authorized to work in the U.S. The employer is not offering relocation sponsorship, and remote work options are not available.</em></p> <p><em class="italic-text">Avride is an equal opportunity employer and committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified applicants and employees with disabilities to ensure they have equal access to employment opportunities.
