When you work with Ernest, you’ll experience the advantages of learning proven methods for success, taking a proactive approach, and having fun while building a rewarding career alongside a team of truly awesome people.</p> <p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p> <p>Ernest Packaging Solutions is currently seeking a <strong>Structural Designer</strong> for our division located in <strong>Houston, TX</strong>. This is a full-time position offering a competitive base salary, great benefits, and a supportive, people-first company culture that encourages creativity and collaboration.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with Sales Representatives to discuss design projects, determine appropriate solutions, and create designs using ArtiosCAD.</li> <li>Work both independently and as part of a team with a cooperative, can-do attitude, managing multiple projects simultaneously.</li> <li>Create packaging samples using the CAD table.</li> <li>Manage, prioritize, and execute multiple projects effectively while meeting deadlines.</li> <li>Develop detailed production specifications from prototypes.</li> <li>Comply with all company policies and procedures, including maintaining safety standards and good housekeeping practices.</li> <li>Perform additional duties as assigned by management.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum 2 years of experience in packaging design.</li> <li>Ability to conceptualize packaging from concept through completion.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of various packaging types, materials, and production methods.</li> <li>Proven ability to drive projects to completion in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.</li> <li>Extensive design experience in retail POP displays, industrial packaging, and folding cartons.</li> <li>Proficient in ArtiosCAD (including parametric designs), ArtiosCAD 3D, and DataCenter Admin.</li> <li>Experience in display and/or retail-ready packaging design and development.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with CAD table operations, maintenance, and technical support for ESKO systems (e.g., Kongsberg/Data Tech tables).</li> <li>Proficient in Cape palletization software and strength analysis.</li> <li>Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers and sales staff.</li> <li>College education or significant coursework in computers, CAD, and drafting, or equivalent work experience.</li> <li>Exceptional Microsoft Office skills (particularly Word and PowerPoint).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Ernest?</strong></p> <p>Ernest Packaging Solutions may be a nationwide company today, but our story began humbly in a Los Angeles garage.
